Lukas Jørgensen
Lukas Lindhard Jørgensen (born 31 March 1999) is a Danish handball player for SG Flensburg-Handewitt and the Danish national team. Career Jørgensen started playing handball at his local club Roskilde Håndbold, where he played until he started high school in 2015. From then on he played for GOG Håndbold, where he got his league debut in 2018. In 2019, he changed clubs to Århus Håndbold. Initially it was a one-year contract, which was extended further 2 years. When that contract was up, he returned to GOG Håndbold when his club Århus Håndbold went bankrupt. Here he won the Danish Championship twice in 2022 and 2023. For the 2023-24 season he joined German side SG Flensburg-Handewitt. Here he won the EHF European League in both 2024 and 2025. National team Jørgensen made his debut for the Danish national team against Saudi-Arabia on 5 January 2023. The Herreligaen (men's league), formerly known as Herrehåndboldligaen (men's handball league), is the men's top Danish professional handball league. The winners of the Herreligaen are recognised as the Danish men's handball champions. The current champions are Aalborg Håndbold. Season The Herreligaen season consists of 14 teams, each playing 26 regular season games. The eight best teams of the regular season advance to further games, where they are divided into two groups of four teams each. No. 1 and 2 from the regular season start with 2 points. Danish Men's Handball Cup
The Danish Men's Handball cup () is the nationwide cup tournament for men's handball teams in Denmark. It’s also known as Santander Cup for sponsorship reasons. The competition has been played annually since 1964. Tournament structure The initial fase of the tournament is split in two. They are managed by the three regional federations, Jydsk Håndbold Forbund (JHF) in Jutland, and Håndboldregion Øst (HRØ) in Sealand together with Fyns Håndbold Forbund (FHF) in fyn. The western half of the initial tournament lasts 7 rounds, while the eastern half lasts 6 round. After the initial fase the DHF taking over the tournament at the round of 16. At the round of 16 and onwards, there are no longer geographical considerations, when drawing the matches. The tournament ultimately results in a final four event scheduled between Christmas and New Year. The 2022–23 Håndboldligaen (known as the ''HTH Herreligaen'' for sponsorship reasons) was the 87th season of the Danish Handball League, the top men's handball league in Denmark. A total of fourteen teams contested this season's league. HC Midtjylland was promoted from the 1st Division. GOG Håndbold won the title, when they beat Aalborg Håndbold in the finals. The 2021–22 Håndboldligaen (known as the ''HTH Herreligaen'') was the 86th season of the Danish Handball League, the top men's handball league in Denmark. A total of fourteen teams contested this season's league, which began on 10 September 2021 and concluded on 12 June 2022. GOG won their eighth title. TMS Ringsted and Skive fH were relegated. Format Under normal circumstances the league is made up of 14 teams. However, for this season only the team had 15 teams. This was because the previous season 2020-21, Aarhus Håndbold had gone bankrupt and was forced to leave the league. The team TMS Ringsted finished last in the regular season, and should therefore under normal circumstances have been relegated.
