Loughmore–Castleiney GAA
Loughmore–Castleiney GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in County Tipperary, Ireland. The club competes in the Mid-Tipperary division of Tipperary GAA, and draws its players and support from the parish of the same name. The area comprises the villages of Loughmore and Castleiney with their surrounding hinterland. History Loughmore–Castleiney has traditionally been a Gaelic football club but also has a successful hurling team, making it one of the very few dual clubs at senior level in County Tipperary. Early Years (1884-1940) Although Loughmore–Castleiney GAA club didn’t really become an entity until the forties, Gaelic games flourished in the parish since the founding of Cumann Luthchleas Gael in 1884. Grangemockler / Ballyneale GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the south-east corner of County Tipperary in Ireland. The club plays Gaelic football and hurling as part of the South division of Tipperary GAA. They have been Tipperary Senior Football Champions on eight occasions. History The club was founded in 1885, one year after the founding of the GAA. The club won its first ever Tipperary senior football championship title in 1890 and had to wait thirteen years before winning again in 1903 when the team won the title five consecutive seasons (1903 to 19070. David Kennedy (born 9 April 1976) originally from County Tipperary, plays with Loughmore–Castleiney and has been a member of the Kildare senior inter-county team since 2007. John Cormack
John Cormack (born 1964) is an Irish retired hurler. His league and championship career with the Tipperary senior team lasted the 1988-89 season. Born in Loughmore, County Tipperary, Cormack came to prominence as a hurler and Gaelic footballer with Templemore CBS. He first appeared for the Loughmore–Castleiney club at juvenile and underage levels, before eventually joining the club's senior teams as a dual player. During a successful club career, Cormack won three county championship medals in both codes. Cormack made his debut on the inter-county scene when he was selected for the Tipperary minor team in 1981. He enjoyed two championship seasons with the minor team, culminating with the winning of an All-Ireland medal in 1982. He subsequently joined the under-21 team, winning an All-Ireland medals in 1985. Pat McGrath (Tipperary Hurler)
Pat McGrath (born 1961) is an Irish retired hurler and Gaelic footballer. His league and championship career with the Tipperary senior teams in both codes spanned nine seasons from 1981 to 1989. Born in Loughmore, County Tipperary, McGrath was raised in a family that had a strong affinity for Gaelic games. His father, Mick McGrath, and his uncles, enjoyed county championship success with the Loughmore–Castleiney club in the 1950s. McGrath attended Rockwell College while simultaneously coming to prominence at juvenile and underage levels with the Loughmore–Casteiney teams. Tipperary Intermediate Hurling Championship
The Tipperary Intermediate Hurling Championship is an annual hurling competition organised by the Tipperary County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1979 for the third-tier hurling teams in the county of Tipperary in Ireland. The series of games are played during the summer and autumn months with the county final currently being played at Semple Stadium in October. The championship has always been played on a regional basis, whereby the respective champions from the Mid, North, South and West championships contest the county series of games. However, in recent years, the championship has followed the same system as the senior grade in Tipperary. Micheál Webster
Micheál Webster (born 1 August 1977) is an Irish hurler and Gaelic footballer who played as a full-forward for the Tipperary senior team. Webster made his first appearance for the Tipperary senior football team during the 2003 National League and was a regular dual player until his retirement after the 2009 hurling championship. During that time he won two Munster hurling medals. He has ended up as an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion.
