The Longueuil Collège Français are a junior "A" ice hockey team from Longueuil, Quebec, and a member of the Quebec Junior Hockey League. The Collège Français headquarters are in Longueuil, Quebec, while the team plays at Colisée Jean Béliveau. History Longueuil won the NAPA Cup as league championship in 1989–90, 1996–97, 2010–11, 2012–13, 2014–15, 2015-16, 2017-18 and 2021-22. Two Longueuil alumni have played in the National Hockey League. Daniel Shank played for the Longueuil Sieurs in 1983–84, and Wally Weir played for the Longueuil Rebels in 1973–74. Longueuil, Quebec
Longueuil () is a city in the province of Quebec, Canada. It is the seat of the Montérégie administrative region and the central city of the urban agglomeration of Longueuil. It sits on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River directly across from Montreal. The population as of the Canada 2021 Census totalled 254,483, making it Montreal's second largest suburb, the fifth most populous city in Quebec and twentieth largest in Canada. Charles Le Moyne founded Longueuil as a '' seigneurie'' in 1657. It would become a parish in 1845, a village in 1848, a town in 1874 and a city in 1920. Between 1961 and 2002, Longueuil's borders grew three times, as it was amalgamated with surrounding municipalities; there was a strong de-amalgamation in 2006 (see 2000–2006 municipal reorganization in Quebec). Ontario Junior Hockey League
The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) is a Junior A ice hockey league in Ontario, Canada. It is under the supervision of the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) and the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL). The league dates back to 1954 where it began as the "Central Junior B Hockey League". In 1993, the Central Junior B Hockey League was promoted to the Junior A level and renamed the "Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League". In 2009, the league was dissolved by the Ontario Hockey Association and split into two leagues: the "Central Canadian Hockey League" and the "Ontario Junior A Hockey League". By early 2010, the two leagues merged to reform the Ontario Junior Hockey League. At its peak, the league was composed of 37 teams and is now mostly based in the Greater Toronto Area with a few teams eastward towards Kingston, Ontario, Kingston.
