Lloyd Noble Center
The Lloyd Noble Center is a 10,967-seat multi-purpose arena located in Norman, Oklahoma, some south of downtown Oklahoma City. It opened in 1975 and is home to the University of Oklahoma men's and women's basketball and women's gymnastics teams of the Southeastern Conference. It also regularly hosts concerts, including city school orchestra concerts, and graduation ceremonies for colleges within the University of Oklahoma as well as those for several high schools in the area. History Before the construction of the facility, the teams played in the much smaller OU Field House, now known as McCasland Field House, located on campus near Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. Billy Tubbs
Billy Duane Tubbs (March 5, 1935 – November 1, 2020) was an American men's college basketball Coach (sport), coach. The Tulsa, Oklahoma native was the head coach of his alma mater Lamar University (1976–1980, 2003–2006), the University of Oklahoma (1980–1994) and Texas Christian University (1994–2002). His first head coaching job — from 1971-72 through 1972-73 — was at Southwestern University, Georgetown, Texas, where his teams were 12–16 and 19–8. From there he went to the North Texas Mean Green men's basketball, University of North Texas to serve as assistant coach under Gene Robbins and for one year under Bill Blakeley. Danielle Robinson (born May 10, 1989) is an American basketball executive, coach and former professional player who is an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She played college basketball at Oklahoma. She was selected sixth overall in the 2011 WNBA draft by the San Antonio Silver Stars. Courtney Paris (born September 21, 1987) is an American professional basketball coach and former player who is an assistant coach for the Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She is best known for her accomplishments during her college career at the University of Oklahoma, where she holds career averages of 21.4 points and 15.3 rebounds per game. She holds the NCAA record for most consecutive double-doubles at 112. Rayford Trae Young (born September 19, 1998) is an American professional basketball player for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Oklahoma Sooners, where in his one season in 2017–18, he tied the then National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I single-game assists record with 22 and became the only player to ever lead the NCAA in both points and assists in a single season. Chavano Rainer "Buddy" Hield ( ; born December 17, 1992) is a Bahamian professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship
The NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, branded as March Madness, or The Big Dance, is a single-elimination tournament played in the United States to determine the men's college basketball national champion of the Division I level in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Played mostly during March, the tournament consists of 68 teams and was first conducted in 1939.
