Bangladesh Television
Bangladesh Television (), commonly known by its acronym BTV (), is the state-owned television network of Bangladesh. The network was originally established as the East Pakistan branch of Pakistan Television Corporation, Pakistan Television in 1964. It was rebranded right after the independence of Bangladesh. BTV is the oldest Bengali-language television network in the world, as well as the oldest television network in Bangladesh, and is sister to the radio broadcaster Bangladesh Betar, which, along with BTV, are both owned and operated by the government. Bijoy TV (; , in reference to Victory Day) is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language privately owned satellite and cable television channel based in Banglamotor, Dhaka. This channel was established by former mayor of Chittagong A. B. M. Mohiuddin Chowdhury. Former Deputy Minister of Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury is one of the shareholders and the former managing director of Bijoy TV. History Being the first private television channel from Chittagong, Bijoy TV originally began test broadcasts on 16 December 2006, being inaugurated by the mayor of Chittagong A. B. M. Pantapath is an important east-west road in Karwan Bazar area of Dhaka city, the capital of Bangladesh. It connects Tongi Diversion road, Mymenshing Road (now Old Airport Road) and Mirpur Road. Features Panthapath is home to one of South Asia's largest shopping centers, Bashundhara City.
