Bangladesh Television
Bangladesh Television (), commonly known by its acronym BTV (), is the state-owned television network of Bangladesh. The network was originally established as the East Pakistan branch of Pakistan Television Corporation, Pakistan Television in 1964. It was rebranded right after the independence of Bangladesh. BTV is the oldest Bengali-language television network in the world, as well as the oldest television network in Bangladesh, and is sister to the radio broadcaster Bangladesh Betar, which, along with BTV, are both owned and operated by the government. Bangladesh Television is the country's only television network provided on terrestrial television. It is primarily financed through television licence fees. Bangladesh Betar
Bangladesh Betar (; ), is the state-owned radio broadcaster of Bangladesh, initially established as the Dhaka station of All India Radio in 1939. It was later made part of Radio Pakistan. After the independence of the country in 1971, Radio Pakistan ceased transmissions there and the Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra was renamed to Bangladesh Betar, which took full control of all radio stations in the country at the time. Bangladesh Betar is a sister service to Bangladesh Television, which is also state-owned. It operates several AM and FM stations around Bangladesh. Sangsad Television
Sangsad Bangladesh Television, often known as Sangsad Television, branded on-air as Sangsad Bangladesh, is a Bangladeshi state-owned parliamentary television channel, which is the sister of Bangladesh Television. It was launched on 25 January 2011, and broadcasts live from the National Parliament of Bangladesh. Other than that, a variety of other programs, such as educational and development programs, are broadcast during the channel's last two hours of daily broadcasting. However, in case if there is no parliamentary session, Sangsad Television broadcasts daily from 15:00 to 21:00 ( BST). BTV World
BTV World () was a Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable television channel owned by the state-owned Bangladesh Television. It began operations on 11 April 2004 via the AsiaSat 3 satellite. It simulcast the broadcasts of BTV Dhaka for most of its schedule, which then simulcasted BTV World's broadcasts during the off-air hours of its terrestrial feed. BTV World was broadcast worldwide from the BTV Bhaban in Rampura, Dhaka. It was also announced to be converted into an entertainment channel, with a different schedule compared to BTV Dhaka. Asiavision (news Exchange)
Asiavision (AVN) is a video news exchange operated by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union's (ABU) News department. More than 15,000 news stories are shared each year. It is a non profit, non political organisation funded by members. Asiavision began in 1984, as Kuala Lumpur became the centre for TV news exchange replacing Singapore. There are currently 27 Asiavision members including ''NHK Japan, KBS Korea, CCTV China, DDI India, TRT Turkiye, TVRI Indonesia, TPBS Thailand, SLRC Sri Lanka, NTV Nepal, BTV Bangladesh, FBC Fiji'' and ''MTRK Uzbekistan''. The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU or APBU), formed in 1964, is a non-profit, professional association of broadcasting organisations. It currently has over 288 members in 57 countries and regions, reaching a potential audience of about 3 billion people. The ABU's role is to help the development of broadcasting in the Asia-Pacific region and to promote the collective interests of its members. ''Kaler Kantho'' () is one of the most popular Bengali newspapers in Bangladesh. It is a part of East West Media Group, which is a part of Bashundhara Group. Bangladesh Television Chattogram or Bangladesh Television Chittagong, branded on-air as BTV Chittagong or BTV Chattogram, sometimes known as CTV, is a BTV-affiliated television station broadcast from Chittagong, serving southeastern Bangladesh.
