Levente Szabó (born 6 June 1999) is a Hungarian professional footballer who plays as a centre-forward for club Eintracht Braunschweig and the Hungary national team. Club career On 31 August 2021, Szabó was loaned to Budafoki MTE for the season. On 14 February 2024, Szabó moved on loan to Diósgyőr. On 24 May 2024, Szabó signed a two-year contract with Eintracht Braunschweig in German 2. Bundesliga. He scored his first goal in 1-1 draw against Darmstadt on 14 September 2024. On 18 October 2024, he scored a goal in a 3-1 defeat against Hertha BSC. International career Szabó made his Hungary national team debut on 16 November 2024 in a Nations League game against Netherlands. The Nemzeti Bajnokság (, ), also known as NB I or Fizz Liga after its title sponsor, OTP Bank's webshop subsidiary, is a professional association football league in Hungary and the highest level of the Hungarian football league system. Twelve teams compete in the league, playing each other three times, once at home, once away, and the third match is played at the stadium that the last match was not played at. At the end of the season, the top team enters the qualification rounds for the UEFA Champions League, while the runner-up and the third place, together with the winner of the Magyar Kupa enter the UEFA Conference League qualification rounds. The NB II, currently known as the Merkantil Bank Liga for sponsorship reasons, is the second tier of Hungarian football. At the end of the 2004–05 season, the tournament format was changed from one division of 14 teams to two divisions: ''Keleti'' (Eastern) and ''Nyugati'' (Western), each with 16 teams, though now it's just one league table with 16 teams as of the 2024–25 season. The champion and the runner-up will ascend to the first division while the two lowest teams in NB II are relegated to NB III. Format On 2 March 2017, the Hungarian Football Federation announced that the number of the teams in the Nemzeti Bajnokság II will not be reduced to 12.
