Lambretta
Lambretta () was a brand of motor scooters, manufactured in Milan, Italy, by Innocenti. The name is derived from the word Lambrate, the suburb of Milan named after the river Lambro which flows through the area, and where the factory was located. Automobile Products Of India
Automobile Products of India (API) was founded in 1949 at Bombay (now Mumbai), by the British company Rootes Group, and later bought over by M. A. Chidambaram of the MAC Group from Madras (now Chennai). The company manufactured Lambretta scooters, API Three Wheelers under license from Innocenti of Italy and automotive ancillaries, notably clutch and braking systems. API's registered offices were earlier in Mumbai, later shifted to Chennai, in Tamil Nadu. The manufacturing facilities were located in Mumbai and Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Aurangabad in Maharashtra and in Ambattur, Chennai. The company has not been operational since 2002. Brumana Pugliese
Brumana Pugliese S.A. was a Brazilian motorcycle and scooter manufacturer that ceased trading in 1982. Its predecessor companies were Lambretta do Brasil and Pasco Lambretta. Lambretta do Brasil In 1955 Paulo Pascowitch obtained a licence to manufacture Lambretta scooters in Brazil. Brazil's first automotive plant was constructed in Lapa, São Paulo for these purposes. The factory initially manufactured Lambretta LD models but these were replaced by the more modern Series II in 1960. Over 50,000 scooters a year were being built at this time. Innocenti
Innocenti () was an Italian machinery works, originally established by Ferdinando Innocenti in 1933 in Lambrate, a neighborhood on the eastern outskirts of Milan. Over the years, they produced Lambretta scooters as well as a range of automobiles, mainly of British Leyland origins. The brand was retired in 1996, six years after being acquired by Fiat. History After World War II, the company was famous for many years for Lambretta scooters models such as the Lambretta 48, LI125, LI150, TV175, TV200, SX125, SX150, SX200, GP125, GP150 and GP200. Serveta
Serveta was a Spanish scooter manufacturer in production between 1954 and 1989. History In 1952 a group of Basque businessmen trading as Lambretta Locomociones SA obtained a licence to build Lambretta scooters in Spain. Production began two years later at a purpose-built factory in Eibar. Sales were good and around 1964 the company began to use the name Serveta SA for its own commercial activities. In 1982 the company changed its name to Lambretta SAL following a change of ownership. A downfall in the company's fortunes saw a further change of ownership in 1985 and production transferred to a shared factory in Amurrio. By the late 1980s sales had fallen even further and scooters were only being built on a made to order batch basis. Production finally ceased in 1989. Ferdinando Innocenti
Ferdinando Innocenti (; 1 September 1891, in Pescia, Italy – 21 June 1966, in Varese) was an Italian businessman who founded the machinery-works company Innocenti and was the manufacturer of the Lambretta motorscooter. Biography Ferdinando Innocenti grew up in Grosseto. He was the son of Dante Innocenti, a blacksmith who owned two hardware stores and a small ironmongery (''Ferramenta Innocenti'') where Ferdinando used to work. In 1923, he moved to Rome with his brother to grow their sales and they found there a booming construction industry boosted by the rise of fascism. The brothers sold metal pipes and scaffolding kits. Auteco (Auto Tecnica Colombiana S.A) is a Colombian motor vehicle manufacturer. It was the first motorcycle assembler in the country. History Auteco was founded on 1 September 1941 in Medellín. It initially distributed spare parts and petrol. In 1945 Auteco began importing American Indian motorcycles. It then went on to import Excelsior motorbikes, as well as vehicles produced by Nash, Renault and Gravely. In 1954 Auteco acquired the right to assemble and sell Lambretta scooters in Colombia. These would later be assembled at a newly built factory in Itagüí, Antioquia, constructed in 1962. These scooters were all badged ''Auteco Lambretta''. The Fenwick Groupe is a French engineering company, established in 1862, located in Saint-Ouen on the northern outskirts of Paris. Its headquarters are in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. Lambrate
Lambrate ( ) is a district (''quartiere'') of Milan, Italy, located within the Zone 3 administrative division, north-east of the city centre.
