Laila Dåvøy
Laila Dåvøy (born 11 August 1948, in Bergen) is a Norwegian nurse and politician for the Christian Democratic Party. She is a former member of the Norwegian parliament and a former Minister and leader of the Norwegian Nurses' Union. Career Dåvøy was a member of the executive committee of Askøy municipal council from 1983 to 1987. From 1987 to 1991 she was a deputy member of Hordaland county council. From 1989 to 1990, during the cabinet Syse, Dåvøy was appointed personal secretary (today known as political advisor) in the Ministry of Culture and Church Affairs. From August to November 1990 she was State Secretary in the same ministry. A nurse by education, Davøy was the leader of the Norwegian Nurses' Union 1992 - 1998. The Storting ( ; ) is the supreme legislature of Norway, established in 1814 by the Constitution of Norway. It is located in Oslo. The Royal Norwegian Ministry of Government Administration, Reform and Church Affairs (, FAD) was a Norwegian ministry. It was established as the Ministry of Modernisation on 1 January 2005, succeeding the portfolio of the Ministry of Labour and Government Administration. TV 2 Direkte ('' English: TV 2 Live'') is a Norwegian terrestrial television channel. Its headquarters are located in Bergen. TV 2 began test broadcasting on 13 November 1991, and a year later, it was officially launched on 5 September 1992, becoming Norway's first commercial free-to-air television channel. In 1992, TV 2 A/S was admitted as full active member of the European Broadcasting Union. 2013 Norwegian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Norway on 8 and 9 September 2013 to elect all 169 members of the unicameral Storting. The centre-right coalition obtained 96 seats, while the incumbent red–green coalition government obtained 72 seats and the Green Party obtained one. The Labour Party won the largest share (30.8%) of the votes cast, with the Conservatives coming second (26.8%), after increasing its share by 9.6 percentage points. Elections in Norway are held on a Monday in September, usually the second or third Monday, as determined by the king-in-council (i.e. the government). In 2013, the election was held on the second Monday. Each municipality was permitted to open some or all of its polling stations on the day before the nationwide election day. The Minister of Children and Families (, ) is a Councilor of State and Chief of Norway's Ministry of Children and Family Affairs. Since 4 February 2025, Lene Vågslid has held the position.
