Kilcoy–Murgon Road
Kilcoy-Murgon Road is a major inland rural road located in Queensland, Australia. It is a state-controlled district road (number 491) rated as a local road of regional significance (LRRS). The road runs from the D'Aguilar Highway in to the Bunya Highway in , a distance of . In it runs concurrent with the Burnett Highway for a short distance. It intersects with Murgon–Barambah Road in Murgon. The road provides a vital link between Kilcoy and Murgon. It travels through large forests of pine plantations and the historic timber town of Jimna. Route description The route starts off at Kilcoy and is a sealed two-laned road from Kilcoy to Jimna, there are some long windy sections that require some care. The road beyond Jimna is mostly unsealed but is maintained as a good gravel road, that is unfenced in some sections. Bunya Highway
The Bunya Highway is a state highway of Queensland, Australia. It is a relatively short road, running approximately 173 kilometres in a south-westerly direction from Goomeri to Dalby. The highway connects the Warrego and Burnett Highways. It is a state-controlled regional road (numbers 45A (Dalby to Kingaroy) and 45B (Kingaroy to Goomeri)). The Bunya Highway passes near the Bunya Mountains National Park, which is popular with tourists. The highway is named after the Bunya-bunya ''Araucaria bidwilli'', which grows in the area and the seeds of which were (and still are) a favourite food of the Aborigines. The road continues east of Goomeri as the Wide Bay Highway, connecting it to Gympie. In 2008, the intersection with Burnett Highway was reconstructed to favour Murgon-bound traffic. The D'Aguilar Highway is a two-lane highway linking the Bruce Highway near Caboolture with the Bunya Highway in Kingaroy in the state of Queensland, Australia. Elgin Vale Sawmill is a heritage-listed sawmill at Manumbar Road, Elgin Vale, Gympie Region, Queensland, Australia. It was built in 1944 for T H Spencer (mill owner) by Wilson Hart Limited. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 17 September 2010. History The Elgin Vale sawmill, an open-air timber structure containing a steam operated mill, was built in 1944 by Wilson Hart Limited of Maryborough, replacing an earlier sawmill established in 1927. Queensland's pastoral frontier and its associated disruption of traditional Aboriginal lifestyles spread throughout the Wide Bay-Burnett district during the 1840s. Jimna Fire Tower is a heritage-listed former fire lookout tower at Jimna State Forest, Murgon-Kilcoy Road, Jimna, Queensland, Jimna, Somerset Region, Queensland, Australia. Yabba Falls is a waterfall on Yabba Creek, a tributary of the Mary River, in Queensland, Australia. The waterfall is located within a 101 hectare reserve near Lake Borumba, in the Gympie Region, near the town of Jimna in the Conondale Range. Bjelke-Petersen Dam
The Bjelke-Petersen Dam is a dam in Moffatdale near Cherbourg in the South Burnett Region, Queensland, Australia. The dam impounds Barker Creek and creates Lake Barambah. It is named after the Queensland Premier Joh Bjelke-Petersen. It is operated by SunWater. Geography The dam wall is long and rises . The wall is an earth and rock fill structure with a central clay core, which can hold back of water. The dam is generally shallow.
