Karşıyaka İskele (Tram İzmir)
Karşıyaka İskele is a light-rail station on the Karşıyaka Tram line of the Tram İzmir system in İzmir, Turkey. It is located on Hergele Square, alongside Cemal Gürsel Avenue, next to the Karşıyaka ferry terminal and across from the southeastern end of the Karşıyaka Çarşı. East of Karşıyaka İskele, the line becomes single-track until Alaybey. The station consists of a single entrance/exit on the eastern side toward the ferry terminal. There is a transfer from the station to the İZDENİZ ferries and ESHOT Elektrik Su Havagazı Otobüs Troleybüs () or ESHOT is a bus service operating in the İzmir. Karşıyaka District
Karşıyaka () is a municipality and district of İzmir Province, Turkey. Its area is 51 km2, and its population is 346,264 (2022). The district extends for twelve kilometres along the northern and eastern coastline of the tip of the Gulf of İzmir. Its centre is at a distance of to the north from the traditional centre of İzmir, which is Konak Square in Konak at the opposite coast. İZDENİZ
İzdeniz is a municipality company which is responsible in short distance sea transport and ferry terminals within the Gulf of İzmir, Turkey. ( ''İz'' is the first syllable of the name İzmir and ''-deniz'' means sea.) History The company was established in 1992 as a subsidiary of İzmir Municipality. In 1999, it was renamed as ''İzdeniz''. In 2000, 104 staff members as well as 11 ferries (8 for the passengers and 3 for the vehicles) were handed over to İzdeniz from the TDİ (Turkish Sea Enterprise, a governmental company) which was responsible in ferry communication in the Gulf of İzmir up to 2000.
