Karlos Vémola
Karel "Karlos" Vémola (born July 1, 1985) is a Czech professional mixed martial artist, bodybuilder, wrestler and member of Sokol. He competes in the Light Heavyweight division of OKTAGON MMA, where he is the former OKTAGON MMA Light Heavyweight Champion. A professional competitor since 2008, he became historically the first UFC fighter from the Czech Republic, and has also competed for UCMMA. Background Vémola began training in Greco-Roman wrestling at the age of six under the leadership of his father Karel Vémola and Vojtěch Smolák in Olomouc Sokol of which he is still a member. From the ages of 10 until 16, Vemola won six national wrestling titles and is also a one-time winner of the Czech Republic Wrestling Team Championship as a youth team member of the Krnov wrestling team. Tottenham Riots 2011
A series of riots took place between 6 and 11 August 2011 in cities and towns across England, which saw looting and arson, as well as mass deployment of police and the deaths of five people. The protests started in Tottenham Hale, London, following the killing of Mark Duggan, a local Black man who was shot dead by police on 4 August. Several violent clashes with police followed Duggan's death, along with the destruction of police vehicles, a double-decker bus and many homes and businesses, which rapidly gained the attention of the media.
