''KLK Calling PTZ – The Red Orchestra'' (alternate title: ''KLK To PTX – The Red Band''; German language, German: ''KLK an PTX – Die Rote Kapelle'') is a 1971 East German film about the history of the Red Orchestra (espionage), Red Orchestra espionage ring. Plot After Adolf Hitler's rise to power, Hitler's rise to power in 1933, a group of regime opponents from various backgrounds consolidated under the leadership of Harro Schulze-Boysen and Arvid Harnack. They gather intelligence and pass it on to other countries. After the outbreak of the Second World War, and especially after the German invasion of the Soviet Union, they intensify their work. In August 1942, the Gestapo arrests Boysen and soon after cracks down on the spy ring. Adam Kuckhoff
Adam Kuckhoff (, 30 August 1887 – 5 August 1943) was a German writer, journalist, and German resistance to Nazism, German resistance member of the anti-fascist resistance group that was later called the Red Orchestra (espionage), Red Orchestra by the Gestapo. Life Adam Kuckhoff published a popular edition of the works of Georg Büchner in 1927, and headed the cultural-political magazine ''Die Tat'' ("The Deed") in 1928–1929, which he gave a left-wing, socialist flavour. In 1931, he wrote the artistic novel ''Scherry'' about Grock. Between 1931 and 1932, he was a dramatic adviser at the Berlin Schauspielhaus. His main work, the world war novel ''Der Deutsche von Bayencourt'' ("The German from Bayencourt") appeared in Germany in 1937. Betti Gertrud Käthe Hilda Coppi ( Rake; 30 May 1909 – 5 August 1943), known as Hilde Coppi, was a German communist and resistance fighter against the Nazi regime. She was a member of the anti-fascist resistance group that was later called the Red Orchestra by the Abwehr, during the Nazi period. Life Betti Gertrud Käthe Hilda Rake was born in Berlin, and grew up in Mitte area of Berlin. Her mother ran a small leather shop. After finishing vocational school, she worked as a general practitioner's assistant through much of the 1930s. Career Coppi was working in Berlin as a clerk at the Reich Insurance Institute for Clerical Workers when she got to know Hans Coppi, who had only just been released from prison. Günther Simon (11 May 1925 – 25 June 1972) was an East German actor. Biography Early life A bank clerk's son, Simon attended an acting school already in '' Gymnasium''. At the age of 16, he was sent to a premilitary training camp of the Hitler Youth and then drafted to the Reich Labour Service. He volunteered to join the paratroopers in August 1943. He was captured by American troops near Normandy and shipped to a POW camp in Colorado, where he acted in the camp's makeshift theater. Oda Schottmüller
Oda Schottmüller (9 February 1905 – 5 August 1943) was an expressive dancer, mask maker and sculptor. Schottmüller was most notable as a resistance fighter against the Nazis, through her association with a Berlin-based anti-fascist resistance group that she met through the sculptor Kurt Schumacher. The group would later be named by the Gestapo as ''Die Rote Kapelle'' (English: "the Red Orchestra"). Author and researcher Geertje Andresen conducted an analysis of Schottmüller's estate, which resulted in the publication of a book on Schottmüller's life.
