Jászalsószentgyörgy
Jászalsószentgyörgy is a village in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok county, in the Northern Great Plain region of central Hungary. History As the carved stones found at the site of the first settlement of the village - where the ancestors lived for 300 years - prove, there must have been a church in the so-called "Telken" as well. There is a written record from 1389 - some researchers claim - which states: "a Jassic dwelling again bears the name of Saint George." This does not indicate the time of the village's formation but rather that the settlement built a church in honor of Saint George at that time and named the village accordingly. In 1686, after the end of the Turkish occupation, and with no authorities or justice in place, internal conflicts erupted among the settlements over land ownership. Jászapáti District
Jászapáti () is a district in north-western part of Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County. ''Jászapáti'' is also the name of the town where the district seat is found. The district is located in the Northern Great Plain, Northern Great Plain Statistical Region. This district is a part of Jászság historical, ethnographical and geographical region. Jászság
Jászság ("Jaszygia", ) is a historical, ethnographical and geographical region in Hungary. Its territory is situated in the north-western part of the Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok county. The main town in the region is Jászberény. Jászság is inhabited by the Jassic people, an Iranian ethnic group whose linguistic base is preserved by the Ossetians. The population of the region is around 85,000. Name Jászság means "Province of the Jász" (i.e. Province of the Jassic people). The Northern Great Plain ( ) is a statistical ( NUTS 2) region of Hungary. It is part of the Great Plain and North (NUTS 1) region. The Northern Great Plain includes the counties of Hajdú-Bihar, Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok, and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg, with a total area of and a population of around 1.5 million.
