Jurupará State Park
The Jurupará State Park () is a state park in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. It protects an area of Atlantic Forest, and provides a bridge between other conservation units in the region. Location The Jurupará State Park is in the municipalities of Ibiúna and Piedade, São Paulo. The park has an area of within a perimeter of . Of this are in Ibiúna and are in Piedade. The park is an important water catchment area in the basin of the Ribeira de Iguape, a tributary of the Juquiá River. The park helps protect the watershed of the upper Juquiá, containing streams that feed the Juquiá, Juquiá-Guaçu and Peixe rivers. There are four hydroelectric power plants within the perimeter of the park. Ibiúna
Ibiúna is a municipality in the state of São Paulo (state), São Paulo in Brazil. It is part of the Metropolitan Region of Sorocaba. The population is 79,479 (2020 est.) in an area of 1058.08 km2. The elevation is 860 m. Geography Located in the middle of a valley, its main economical activity/resources are provided from agriculture (developed by the hundreds of Japanese immigrants established there) and the city has been recently turned to a tourist city a few years ago. The Atlantic Forest Biosphere Reserve, or Mata Atlântica Biosphere Reserve (MABR, ), is a biosphere reserve covering remnants of the Atlantic Forest in Brazil, including fully protected and sustainable use conservation units and buffer zones. It is the largest such reserve in the world. Paranapiacaba Ecological Continuum
The Paranapiacaba Conservation Units Mosaic () is a protected area mosaic in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. It is administered by the state, and protects a large area of Atlantic Forest. It is associated with the Paranapiacaba Ecological Corridor of the Atlantic Forest Biosphere Reserve. Formation In 1995 the area covered by Paranapiacaba Mosaic was declared part of the Atlantic Forest Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, and in 2000 it was declared a natural World Heritage Site. Serra Do Mar State Park
The Serra do Mar State Park () is a state park in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. It covers of the Serra do Mar mountain range, and is one of the largest remaining areas of continuous Atlantic Forest. The State Park stretches from the border of Rio de Janeiro to Itariri in the southern part of São Paulo. Location The Serra do Mar State Park was created in 1977 when the BR-101 coastal highway was built, and expanded in 2010.
