Julian Strøm
Julian Tidemann Strøm (February 24, 1901 – October 7, 1992) was a Norwegian actor and theater director. He is known as a pioneer of Norwegian puppet theater. Family Julian Strøm was the son of the artisan Julius Strøm and his wife Marie Kristine. He married the teacher Selma Hanna Johnsgård (1901–1989) in 1927. He was the father of the puppeteers Birgit Strøm and Elisabeth Strøm Henriksen, and the grandfather of the actress and director Camilla Strøm Henriksen. Career Strøm grew up in Kristiania (now Oslo) and studied acting. He performed as a student at the National Theatre in Oslo, and he made his debut at the private Mayol Theater in 1920. In the early 1920s, Strøm was engaged at the Stavanger Theater, where he staged ''Veslefrikk med fela'' (Little Freddy and His Fiddle) with children in all the roles. Felix (1921 Film)
''Felix'' is a Norwegian silent drama film from 1921. The film is based on the story ''Keiser Felix'' by Gustav Aagaard. It was adapted into a screenplay by Gunnar Nilsen-Vig, who was also the film's cinematographer. Rasmus Breistein directed the film, and it was distributed by Kommunenes Filmcentral. Plot As autumn storms are blowing in over the island of Fagerøy, the priest's wife Else Margrete and her child die in childbirth. During the storm, a ship is also wrecked off the island, and the only survivor is a three-month-old boy. The maritime pilot Abraham takes the child to the rectory, and the young priest accepts the boy as a gift from heaven for the child he has lost. Fjernsynsteatret () was a department of the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) that produced plays for television broadcasting. It opened in 1960 (after about a year of experimental operation) and operated until a major reorganisation of NRK occurred in 1990. ''Reisen til julestjernen'' (Journey to the Christmas Star) is a 1976 Norwegian fairy-tale adventure film directed by Ola Solum and starring Hanne Krogh, Knut Risan, and Bente Børsum. The film was the solo feature-film directing début by Ola Solum. It is regularly broadcast by NRK every Christmas Eve. A remake of the film, directed by Nils Gaup, was released in 2012.
