José Rafael Santiago Alfonso (born August 15, 1940) is a Puerto Rican former right-handed professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1963 to 1970 for the Kansas City Athletics and Boston Red Sox. Early life Santiago was born on August 15, 1940, in Juana Díaz, Puerto Rico, one of three children born to Alejandro Santiago and Merida Alfonso. Alejandro played amateur baseball. Santiago's nickname was "Palillo" (toothpick). He played the outfield in high school, but became a pitcher in college at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Puerto Rico, which he attended for two years. José Rafael Santiago Fuentes (born November 5, 1974) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. Listed at 6' 3" , 200 lb. , Santiago batted and threw right-handed. He was born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. Playing career Santiago was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 70th round of the 1994 Major League Baseball draft. He debuted with the Royals in , bouncing back and forth between the major league club and the minor leagues until being traded to the Philadelphia Phillies in . José Luis Santiago Vasconcelos (7 June 1957 – 4 November 2008) was a Mexican lawyer, politician and civil servant. Santiago Vasconcelos, a native of Mexico City, earned a law degree at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). In 1993 he began working for the office of the Attorney General of Mexico, federal Attorney-General (PGR), in the drug-trafficking control area. He was later appointed Assistant Attorney-General for Legal and International Affairs and, following that appointment, served as Assistant Attorney-General at the Organized Crime Specialized Investigation Office (SIEDO), Mexico's top anti-drug prosecutor. The last position he held was as head of the PGR's technical secretariat for implementing the recent constitutional reforms on criminal justice and public security. José Turiano Santiago y Acosta (July 13, 1875 – ) was a Filipino patriot who was among the leaders of the Katipunan that sparked the Philippine Revolution against Spain in 1896. Biography Santiago graduated from the University of Santo Tomas and was a practicing accountant. Santiago joined the Katipunan in 1893 and was among those tasked to organize popular councils in key areas in Manila and its environs. He was elected secretary of the secret society's second Supreme Council under the presidency of Roman Basa. It was at this time that he met Marina Dizon, daughter of Katipunan founder José Dizon and member of the Katipunan's women's auxiliary.
