José Rodríguez Suárez
José Rodríguez Suárez, a co-founder of the Puerto Rico Statehood Students Association, is the longest-serving Deputy Secretary of State of Puerto Rico, having served under two governors, Pedro Rosselló and Luis Fortuño, and four Secretaries of State of Puerto Rico, Baltasar Corrada del Río, Norma Burgos and Angel Morey between 1993 and 2000, and Kenneth McClintock between 2009 and 2012. As such, he was charged with directing all intergovernmental and international activities of the Department during 12 of the Department's 60-year history. The Puerto Rico Statehood Students Association (PRSSA) is a Puerto Rican non-profit student organization dedicated to promoting statehood for Puerto Rico. It was founded in 1979, and remained active for two years, becoming inactive 1981–1993, active again 1993 to 1997, inactive once more 1997 to 2007, when it was reactivated once again.The status of this organization since 2007 (whether active, inactive or dissolved) is not known. The University of Puerto Rico School of Law is the law school of the University of Puerto Rico at Río Piedras, the only law school in the University of Puerto Rico System and the only public law school in Puerto Rico. Pedro Juan Rosselló González (; born April 5, 1944) is a Puerto Rican physician and politician who served as the governor of Puerto Rico from 1993 to 2001. He was President of the New Progressive Party from 1991 to 1999 and 2003 to 2008, and served as Senator for the District of Arecibo from 2005 to 2008. His son, Ricardo, was also Governor of Puerto Rico from 2017 to 2019. In 1988 Rosselló ran for Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico, but lost to Jaime Fuster in the 1988 elections. From 1990 to 1991 he successfully challenged former Governor and then-NPP President Carlos Romero Barceló for the NPP's presidency.
