Jesper Hellström
Jesper Hellström (born 27 July 1995) is a Swedish long and triple jumper. He is a seven-time national champion in the triple jump. Career Jesper Hellström first gained international experience in 2017 when he competed in the long jump at the 2017 European Athletics U23 Championships in Bydgoszcz, finishing ninth with a jump of 7.49 m. In 2021, he competed in the triple jump at the 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Toruń, where he achieved sixth place with a jump of 16.45 m. The following year, he placed tenth at the 2022 European Athletics Championships in München with a jump of 16.23 m, and in 2023, he missed qualifying for the final at the 2023 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Istanbul with a jump of 15.95 m. In 2019 and 2020, Hellström was the Swedish Athletics Championships winner in the outdoor triple jump, and from 2018 to 2021 and again in 2023, he also won Swedish Athletics Indoor Championships individual titles. 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships
The 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships was held from 4 to 7 March 2021 at the Arena Toruń in Toruń, Poland. This was the second time this event was held in Poland after the 1975 edition in Katowice. The four-day competition featured 13 men's and 13 women's athletics events. Altogether 659 athletes from 46 countries participated in the event which is a record in the competition's history. The Netherlands topped the medal table for the first time with four gold, one silver and two bronze medals. Katarzynka, a gingerbread, was the mascot. The javelin throw is a track and field event where the javelin, a spear about in length, is thrown as far as possible. The javelin thrower gains momentum by running within a predetermined area. Javelin throwing is an event of both the men's decathlon and the women's heptathlon. History The javelin throw was added to the Ancient Olympic Games as part of the pentathlon in 708 BC. It included two events, one for distance and the other for accuracy in hitting a target. The javelin was thrown with the aid of a thong (''Amentum, ankyle'' in Greek) that was wound around the middle of the shaft. 2023 European Athletics Indoor Championships
The 2023 European Athletics Indoor Championships was held from 2 to 5 March 2023 at the Ataköy Athletics Arena, Ataköy Arena in Istanbul, Turkey, the first time the event took place in this country although the venue did stage the 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships, 2012 World Indoor Championships for which this 7000-seater was specifically built.
