Jeanette Söderholm
Jeanette Söderholm, born 1967, is a Swedish singer of Jamaican origin. Jeanette and her sister Diane (ex- Freestyle) first released several club albums under the name Dayeene in 1990. Their first album was ''United Soul Power''. 'Is This Love (Compusex)' was produced by Denniz Pop and Douglas Carr at Cheiron Studios in 1994. During this time, Jeanette also worked as an in-house backing vocalist at Cheiron Studios. Bands or singers for which she recorded backing vocals include Ace of Base (most albums), Army of Lovers, Britney Spears, E-Type, Rednex, and Robyn. Jeanette and Diane are the half-sisters of Rita Marley, wife of Bob Marley. Freestyle (Swedish Band)
Freestyle was a Swedish pop band formed in 1979. The best known line-up comprised Tommy Ekman, Christer Sandelin, Joakim Hagleitner, Gigi Hamilton, Anders Uddberg and Kayo Shekoni, but Kayo left the group with the release of the fourth single " Vill ha dej" and was replaced by Diane Corinne Söderholm, a half-sister of Rita Marley. The most notable hits of the group include " Vill ha dej", "Fantasi", "Ögon som glittrar" and "Rider omkring". "Vill ha dej" (also spelled "Vill ha dig") stayed on top of the Swedish Singles Chart for five consecutive weeks and was covered by Swedish solo project Drömhus in 1998. Rita Marley
Alfarita Constantia "Rita" Marley OJ OD ( Anderson; born 25 July 1946) is a Jamaican reggae singer. She is the widow of reggae musician Bob Marley. Along with Marcia Griffiths and Judy Mowatt, Rita was a member of the reggae vocal group the I Threes, the backing vocalists for Bob Marley and the Wailers. Early life Rita Marley was born in Santiago de Cuba, to Leroy Anderson and Cynthia "Beda" Jarrett. Her parents moved to Kingston, Jamaica, when she was three months old. Dayeene
DaYeene was a Swedish soul/house music group active in the early 1990s. It consisted of the sisters Jeanette and Diane Söderholm. Diane had previously been a vocalist in the Swedish synthpop band Freestyle. The duo was one of many new Swedish acts associated with the early 1990s Nordik beat scene that specialized in urban music. Notable artists were Papa Dee, Kayo, Rob'n'Raz, and Titiyo. DaYeene guest featured on most of these artists' albums. They were signed to the label SweMix, one of the very early Swedish labels specializing in urban music. The duo got started when SweMix co-founder StoneBridge did a remix for Frankie LaMotte in 1989, and needed backing vocalists. He loved their voices and signed the sisters. Rednex is a Swedish musical group whose style is a mix of American country music and modern eurodance, with their appearance and stage names taking inspiration from the American redneck stereotypes. Bo Martin Erik Erikson (born 27 August 1965), better known by his stage name E-Type, is a Swedish Eurodance musician, songwriter and record producer. His professional name is based on the Jaguar E-Type sports car. Biography Early years Erikson was born in Uppsala. His father is Bo ("Bosse") G. Erikson (b. 1933), known as the host of the science TV-show ''Vetenskapens Värld'' (World of Science) on SVT. His mother's name was Elisabeth and he has one sibling, a sister Erika.
