Jeanette Lindström
Maria Jeanette Lindström is a Swedish singer, composer and lyricist. She grew up in Östersund and Ås in the Jämtland region of Sweden. Career Lindström made her recording debut for Caprice Records with ''Another Country'' in 1995, the year she was awarded the Jazz in Sweden prize. Two more albums followed for the same label. In 2003 she began a collaboration with the Bonnier Amigo Music Group on the album ''Walk''. The album and its sequel, ''In the Middle of This Riddle'', were warmly received by audiences and critics in Sweden and abroad. On the album ''Whistling Away the Dark'', she recorded with Palle Danielsson, Bobo Stenson, Jonas Östholm, and Magnus Öström—a side project apart from her band. In 2007 the song ''Leaf'', from ''In the Middle of This Riddle'', was remixed by King Britt, a DJ and record producer from Philadelphia, and a track from the album was chosen for the compilation series Saint-Germain-des-Prés Café (Volume 7). Östersund
Östersund (; sma, Staare) is an urban area (city) in Jämtland in the middle of Sweden. It is the seat of Östersund Municipality and the capital of Jämtland County. Östersund is located at the shores of Sweden's fifth-largest lake, Storsjön, opposite the island Frösön. It is the only city in Jämtland. The northern part of the urban area is located inside of the municipality of Krokom. Östersund is the region's cultural and economical centre and by tradition a city of trade and commerce. Palle Danielsson
Nils Paul "Palle" Danielsson (born 15 October 1946) is a Swedish jazz double bassist born in Stockholm, Sweden. From 1974 to 1979, he was a member of Keith Jarrett's quartet. He is the brother of pianist Monica Dominique. Career Danielsson's childhood was an especially musical one; his first instrument was the harmonica, which he started playing at the age of two. By age eight he was playing violin, which he continued to play and study for about five years. Around this time he became interested in jazz music and started to play double bass. By the time he was fifteen, Danielsson was playing professionally. Having studied at the Stockholm Royal Academy of Music (1962–1966), he began to play with Scandinavian musicians such as Eje Thelin, Bobo Stenson, and Jan Garbarek and took up international collaborations, e.g. with Lee Konitz and Steve Kuhn. Bobo Stenson
Bobo Stenson (born Bo Gustav Stenson; 4 August 1944) is a Swedish jazz pianist. The Bobo Stenson Trio, formed in collaboration with Anders Jormin (bass) and Jon Fält (drums), has been in existence for four decades. Career Stenson studied with Werner Wolf for 15 years, starting at the age of 8. In 1963, Stenson stepped up from the local scene in Västerås to begin playing frequently in Stockholm, where he accompanied a long line of visiting American players including Sonny Rollins, Stan Getz and Gary Burton. He also worked closely with Don Cherry from the beginning of the trumpeter's residency in Scandinavia. The 1970s was an intensive period for Stenson, playing in many groups, amongst them the long-standing band Rena Rama with Palle Danielsson, and a trio with Arild Andersen and Jon Christensen; later also with Jan Garbarek. Magnus Öström
Magnus Öström (born 3 May 1965) is a Swedish drummer, and known for being part of the first Esbjörn Svensson Trio (e.s.t.). Biography Öström was the son of an artist couple, and was influenced by the musical tastes of his older brother like Jimi Hendrix, Deep Purple, The Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd. At the age of eight years he built his first drum set and soon played music with a friend, Esbjörn Svensson. Since 1981, he attended the musical grammar school in Västerås and played with Svensson trio. Between 1983 and 1985, he studied at the adult education center in Sjövik before he continued his studies at the Music Academy Stockholm. King Britt
King Britt (born 1968) is an American educator, DJ and record producer from Philadelphia. Biography Britt is a 1986 graduate of Central High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1987, he started working at Tower Records, as a buyer for the singles/import section. His extensive knowledge of dance music made him an in demand buyer in the company. He went on to make many connections in the music community, bringing in records and new labels from all over the world. King attended Temple University. In 1990, King Britt began his first DJ residency at the Silk City in Philadelphia and the now defunct Revival. Steve Dobrogosz
Steve Dobrogosz (born 26 January 1956 in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania) is an American composer, songwriter and pianist. Dobrogosz is the son of Walter Dobrogosz and Donna Bartone and grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina and attended Jesse O. Sanderson High School. He studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, and afterwards moved to Stockholm, Sweden in 1978, where he began recording and performing. Dobrogosz continues to reside in Stockholm. Dobrogosz's over 1500 compositions span several genres, including jazz, pop, and classical. Anders Bertil Michael Jormin (born 7 September 1957) is a Swedish bassist and composer. Jormin established a musical partnership with Bobo Stenson in the mid-1980s which led to international recognition playing with Charles Lloyd, in the early 1990s. In the late 1990s he also performed regularly with Polish trumpeter Tomasz Stańko. Jorman has played and toured internationally with many musicians including Elvin Jones, Don Cherry, Lee Konitz, Joe Henderson, Paul Motian, Rita Marcotulli, Norma Winstone, Mike Mainieri, Mats Gustafsson, Albert Mangelsdorff, Dino Saluzzi, Marilyn Crispell, and Kenny Wheeler.
