The brand name is owned by the Jacob Fruitfield Food Group, part of Valeo Foods, which produces snacks for the Irish market. Port Providence is an unincorporated village along the Schuylkill River in Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Originally known as Jacobs, then Lumberville, the village is located on one of the two remaining watered stretches of the Schuylkill Canal. Jacobs is a town in Ashland County, Wisconsin. The population was 722 at the 2010 census. The unincorporated community of Glidden is located within the town. History The Town of Jacobs was named after William H. Jacobs, a German immigrant to Wisconsin who served as the colonel of the 26th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment during the American Civil War and as a member of the Wisconsin State Senate from 1876 to 1878. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , of which is land and , or 0.62%, is water.
