JAGAL
JAGAL (''Jamal-Gas-Anbindungsleitung'') is a German section of the Yamal-Europe pipeline. The pipeline is used for the Russian natural gas import and it is owned and operated by Gascade Gastransport GmbH. It runs from the Polish–German border at Lebus near Frankfurt (Oder) to Rückersdorf. In Rückersdorf JAGAL is connected with STEGAL pipeline carrying gas further west. In Bernau JAGAL is connected with the Verbundnetz Gas AG-operated long-distance gas pipeline No. 302. Construction of the JAGAL pipeline started in 1995, when a double duct between Lebus and Górzyca in Poland was laid under Oder and long connection from Lebus to Mallnow compressor station was built. STEGAL
STEGAL (''Sachsen-Thüringen-Erdgas-Anbindungsleitung'') is a natural gas pipeline in Saxony and Thuringia, Germany. It connects the Czech Transgas pipeline at Olbernhau and the JAGAL pipeline (exporting gas from the Yamal–Europe pipeline) at Rückersdorf with the MIDAL pipeline at Reckrod. The pipeline is used for the Russian gas import. The length of STEGAL is and the diameter of pipe is . It is operated by Wingas GmbH & Co. KG. Construction of the STEGAL pipeline started in 1991 and the pipeline was completed in 1992. In 1999, the JAGAL pipeline was connected with STEGAL at Rückersdorf. In March 2006, the long STEGAL Loop, parallel to the main pipeline, was commissioned. Due to increasing demand, the STEGAL ring line was built and put into operation in 2005/2006. OPAL Pipeline
The OPAL (''Ostsee-Pipeline-Anbindungsleitung'') is a natural gas pipeline in Germany alongside the German eastern border. The OPAL pipeline is one of two projected pipelines connecting the Nord Stream 1 pipeline to the existing pipeline grid in Middle and Western Europe, the other one being the NEL pipeline. Route The long pipeline runs from Lubmin near Greifswald to Olbernhau near German-Czech border. It connects the Nord Stream pipeline with the JAGAL (distributes gas from the Yamal-Europe pipeline), and the STEGAL (distributes gas from the Central-European Russian gas transit system (Transgas) via Czechia and Slovakia) pipelines in Germany. Frankfurt (Oder), also known as Frankfurt an der Oder (), is a city in the German state of Brandenburg. It has around 57,000 inhabitants, is one of the easternmost cities in Germany, the fourth-largest city in Brandenburg, and the largest German city on the river Oder. MEGAL
The MEGAL pipeline (german: Mittel-Europäische-Gasleitung) is a major natural gas pipeline system in southern Germany. It transports natural gas from the Czech–German and Austrian–German borders to the German– French border. History Construction started in 1975 when Ruhrgas and Gaz de France formed a partnership (''Mittel-Europäische-Gasleitungsgesellschaft'') for transportation of Russian natural gas to France and southern Germany. Bernau Bei Berlin
Bernau bei Berlin (English ''Bernau by Berlin'', commonly named Bernau) is a German town in the Barnim district. The town is located about northeast of Berlin. History Archaeological excavations of Mesolithic-era sites indicate that this area has been inhabited since about 8800 BC. The city was first mentioned in 1232. The reasons for its founding are not known. According to a legend, Albert I of Brandenburg permitted the founding of the city in 1140 because of the good beer which was offered to him. Beer was brewed with water from the river Panke. Therefore, it was forbidden by law to pollute this river with waste and excrement when brewing took place.
