Ivanhoe East is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 10 km north-east from Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Banyule local government area. Ivanhoe East recorded a population of 3,762 at the 2021 census. In the 12-month period to January 2020 Ivanhoe East reported a median house price of A$1.58 million for a three bedroom house. History Charterisville was built in about 1840, of sandstone quarried on the site, for David Charteris McArthur, Melbourne's first bank manager. Following his death in 1887 part of the house was leased to artist Walter Withers. Charterisville became an important centre and artists' colony within the Heidelberg School. Ravenswood was begun in 1891 for financier Robert William Kennedy on four acres of land rising from the north side of Lower Heidelberg Road. The electoral district of Ivanhoe is an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It is located in the north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne and includes the suburbs of Heidelberg, Heidelberg Heights, Heidelberg West, Bellfield, Ivanhoe, Ivanhoe East, Eaglemont, Rosanna, Viewbank, Yallambie and Macleod. Formed in 1945 the seat had usually been fairly safe for the Liberal Party having only been won by Labor at its 1952 and 1982 landslides before the 1990s. However a redistribution prior to the 1992 election made the seat notionally Labor. Liberal candidate Vin Heffernan was able to win at that election, only to be one of just three sitting Liberals defeated at the 1996 election. City Of Heidelberg
The City of Heidelberg was a local government area about northeast of Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria, Australia. The city covered an area of , and existed from 1840 until 1994. History Heidelberg was first incorporated as a trust in 1840, making it one of the earliest local government formations in Australia. On 12 October 1860, it became a road district, administered by a Roads Board. It became a shire on 27 January 1871, and was proclaimed a city on 11 April 1934. Wilbur Wilde (born Nicholas Robert Aitken on 5 October 1955) is an Australian saxophonist, television personality and radio presenter. He is best known for his work on ''Hey Hey It's Saturday''. He rose to prominence with the bands Ol' 55 and Jo Jo Zep & The Falcons. Career Music career Wilde was the tenor saxophonist (and did some vocals) with Ol' 55 from 1975 until 1977. Heidelberg, Victoria
Heidelberg () is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, northeast of Melbourne's central business district, located within the City of Banyule local government area. Heidelberg recorded a population of 7,360 at the 2021 census. Once a large town on Melbourne's outskirts, Heidelberg was absorbed into Melbourne as part of the latter's northward expansion after World War II. Mother Of God Primary School
Mother of God Primary School (nicknamed "MOG") was a primary school in Ivanhoe East, Victoria. The school opened in 1963 after being converted from an old house. In the schools infancy the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Apparition taught grades prep to grade 3. With extensions to the school in 1964, it allowed grades 4 and 5 to accepted and then grade 6 students later on. In August 2017, Catholic Education Melbourne confirmed that a review was being undertaken to determine the viability of schools in the Ivanhoe Parish which consisted of three schools, Mary Immaculate School and St Bernadette's School, which are still open and Mother of God. Following the review, the school closed at the end of 2017 with the reasons being "limited enrolment growth" and the need for the Ivanhoe parish to consolidate their resources. Yarra River

2021 Australian Census
The 2021 Australian census, simply called the 2021 Census, was the eighteenth national Census of Population and Housing in Australia. The 2021 Census took place on 10 August 2021, and was conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). It had a response rate of 96.1%, up from the 95.1% at the 2016 census. The total population of the Commonwealth of Australia was counted as 25,422,788, an increase of 8.6 per cent or 2,020,896 people over the previous 2016 census. Results from the 2021 census were released to the public on 28 June 2022 from the Australian Bureau of Statistics website. City Of Banyule
The City of Banyule is a local government area in Victoria, Australia in the north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. It was created under the Local Government Act 1989 and established in 1994 as an amalgamation of former councils. It has an area of and lies between 7 and 21 km from central Melbourne. In 1994 it had a population of 116,000. In June 2018 Banyule had a population of 130,237. The Yarra River runs along the City's southern border while its western border is defined by Darebin Creek. The City moved their main offices from Ivanhoe to Greensborough in 2017.
