Wilbur Wilde
Wilbur Wilde (born Nicholas Robert Aitken on 5 October 1955) is an Australian saxophonist, television personality and radio presenter. He is best known for his work on ''Hey Hey It's Saturday''. He rose to prominence with the bands Ol' 55 and Jo Jo Zep & The Falcons. Career Music career Wilde was the tenor saxophonist (and did some vocals) with Ol' 55 from 1975 until 1977. Wilde then joined Jo Jo Zep & The Falcons in 1977 as saxophonist and backing singer. He still remains in that role to this date. Television career He is most famous for appearing as part of the house band on ''Hey Hey It's Saturday'' from 1984 until 1999, and again from 2009 until 2010. The Russell Gilbert Show
''The Russell Gilbert Show'' is a short-lived Australian comedy show hosted by Russell Gilbert in 1998. It was produced by Somers Carroll Productions and was partially a spin-off from ''Hey Hey It's Saturday'', where Gilbert had risen to prominence. The show's writers included Kevin Blond, Paul Calleja and Andrew Maj. Seven episodes were filmed and aired. Gilbert's former castmate from '' The Comedy Company'', Glenn Robbins also starred in the show. The show was successful and beat ''Ally McBeal'' (Channel 7) in the ratings. In 2000, a similar concept was attempted: ''Russell Gilbert Live'', which was followed in 2001 by ''Russell Gilbert Was Here!''. Both new shows were relatively short-lived. Chris Aitken (born 26 October 1948) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Biography His is the older brother of Melbourne musician and radio host, Wilbur Wilde. GOLD104.3 (call sign: 3KKZ) is a radio station broadcasting in Melbourne, Australia. It is part of ARN Media's Gold Network and broadcasts on the 104.3 MHz frequency. History 3KZ 3KZ commenced operations on 8 December 1930. The radio station was initiated by the Industrial Printing and Publicity Group as a means of spreading its message, and in the station's early years, it was broadcast from the Victorian Trades Hall. Its original frequency was 1350 kHz, moving to 1180 kHz on 1 September 1935. The frequency changed again on 23 November 1978 to 1179 kHz when all Australian AM radio stations were assigned new frequencies as part of the new 9 kHz spacing plan implemented. ''Dead End Drive-In'' is a 1986 Australian dystopian action film about a teenage couple trapped in a drive-in theatre which is really a concentration camp for societal rejects. The inmates, many of whom sport punk fashion, are placated with a steady diet of junk food, new wave music, drugs, and exploitation films. The film was directed by Brian Trenchard-Smith and stars Ned Manning and Natalie McCurry as the captive couple, and Peter Whitford as the manager of the drive-in.
