Town
A town is a human settlement. States Of Nigeria
Nigeria is a federation of 36 states and 1 federal capital territory. Each of the 36 states is a semi-autonomous political unit that shares powers with the federal government as enumerated under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The Federal Capital Territory (FCT), is the capital territory of Nigeria, and it is in this territory that the capital city of Abuja is located. The FCT is not a state but is administered by elected officials who are supervised by the federal government. Each state is subdivided into local government areas (LGAs). There are 774 local governments in Nigeria. Under the constitution, the 36 states are co-equal but not supreme because sovereignty resides with the federal government. The constitution can be amended by the National Assembly, but each amendment must be ratified by two-thirds of the 36 states of the federation. Oyo State
Oyo State is an inland state in southwestern Nigeria. Its capital is Ibadan, the third most populous city in the country and formerly the second most populous city in Africa. Oyo State is bordered to the north by Kwara State, to the east by Osun State, and to the southwest by Ogun State and the Republic of Benin. With a projected population of 7,840,864 in 2016, Oyo State is the fifth most populous in the Nigeria. The vast majority of Oyo State residents are Yoruba, and the Yoruba language remains dominant. Akinyele, Oyo State
Akinyele is a Local Government Area in Oyo State, Nigeria. It is one of the eleven local governments that make up Ibadan metropolis. Its headquarters are at Moniya. Akinyele local government area was created in 1976 and it shares boundaries with Afijio Local Government to the north, Lagelu Local Government Area to the east, Ido Local Government Area to the west and Ibadan North Local Government Area to the south. It occupies a land area of 464.892 square kilometers with a population density of 516 persons per square kilometer. Using 3.2% growth rate from 2006 census figures, the 2010 estimated population for the Local Government is 239,745. Olasunkanmi Abioye Opeola, Kurunloju I
Olasunkanmi Abioye Opeola, Kurunloju I (born 9 March 1961) is the Oniroko, or traditional ruler, of the Yoruba town of Iroko, Oyo State, Nigeria. He has ruled since 4 February 2011. Early life H.R.H Oba Olasunkanmi was born on 9 March 1961, into the Abioye Ruling House. He is the first Oniroko from the Abioye Ruling House. Olasunkanmi attended Iroko Grammar School, Iroko, then went on to St' Andrew's Teachers' College, Iseyin in 1979, obtaining a Grade II certificate in 1982. He joined the Oyo State Teaching Service in 1983, and attended the College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti from 2000 to 2002, obtaining a Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE). He retired from the teaching service in 2012 as an Assistant Headmaster. Legal dispute When Olasunkanmi became Oniroko, he became the first leader of Iroko in over thirty years.
