Indy Eleven
Indy Eleven is an American professional association football, soccer team based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Founded in 2013, the team made its debut in the North American Soccer League (2011–2017), North American Soccer League (NASL) in 2014, before moving to the United Soccer League (USL) in 2018. The club also began fielding a women's team in the USL W League beginning in 2022, with plans of eventually moving up to USL Super League. The franchise plays its home games at IU Michael A. Carroll Track & Soccer Stadium with plans for a new stadium at Eleven Park currently in doubt. The Indiana State Soldiers and Sailors Monument is a tall Neoclassicism, neoclassical monument built on Monument Circle, a circular, brick-paved street that intersects Meridian and Market streets in the center of downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. In the years since its public dedication on May 15, 1902, the monument has become an iconic symbol of Indianapolis, the List of capitals in the United States, state capital of Indiana. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 13, 1973, and was included in an expansion of the Indiana World War Memorial Plaza Historic District, Indiana World War Memorial Plaza National Historic Landmark District in December 2016. Tim Hankinson
Timothy Milledge Hankinson (February 18, 1955 – September 22, 2022) was an American soccer coach. He initially coached American college teams, before becoming head coach in Major League Soccer, as well as managing teams in Iceland, India, and Jamaica. Early career Hankinson was born in New York City on February 18, 1955. His father, Richard "Dick" Hankinson, was a pianist; his mother, Nelle "Pokey" Hankinson (née Rahm), was "an actress in the early days of television". Hankinson's career as a player began at age 5 as a kindergarten student at St. David's School. Tim Regan
Tim Regan (born June 27, 1981) is a former American soccer defender, and coach who currently is the head coach for the Bradley Braves men's soccer program. College Regan played college soccer at Bradley University from 1999 to 2002, where he established himself as one of the best players in the program's history. After starting 20 games as a freshman, Regan was named second-team All-Missouri Valley Conference as a sophomore, after registering two goals and two assists from a defensive midfield position. Regan was moved to defense as a junior, and proved more than up to the task - he finished the year as a first-team All-MVC winner, and the team's co-MVP with Gavin Glinton. North Carolina FC is an American professional association football, soccer team in Cary, North Carolina, a suburb of Raleigh, North Carolina, Raleigh, and member of the USL Championship. Founded in 2006, the team previously was named the Carolina Railhawks. Kristian Nicht (born 3 April 1982) is a German former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Career Europe He came through the academy system of his hometown club FC Carl Zeiss Jena. Juergen Sommer
Juergen Petersen Sommer (born February 27, 1969) is an American former professional soccer player and coach. He became the first American goalkeeper to play in the FA Premier League, when he signed to play for Queens Park Rangers in 1995. He has served as the United States national team goalkeeping coach. Later on, Sommer coached Indy Eleven in the NASL. Youth and college Sommer played soccer at Culver Military Academy in Culver, Indiana where he was an All-American. The 1911 International 500-Mile Sweepstakes Race was held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Tuesday, May 30, 1911. It was the inaugural running of the Indianapolis 500, which is one of the Triple Crown of Motorsport, most prestigious automobile races in the world. Ray Harroun, an engineer with the Marmon Motor Car Company, came out of retirement to drive, and won the inaugural event before re-retiring for good in the winner's circle.
