Indus Gorge
The Indus Gorge is a gorge formed by the Indus River as it skirts the Nanga Parbat massif, the western anchor of the Greater Himalayas, before it debouches into the plains of Punjab, Pakistan, Punjab in Pakistan. Swabi
Swabi (; ) is a city in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It is located near the bank of the Indus River. It is the 73rd largest city of Pakistan and eighth largest in the province in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Swabi is also a major city in the Mardan Division, where it is the second-largest city. Demographics Population According to the 2023 Census of Pakistan, the city of Swabi had 1,894,600 inhabitants, making it the eighth-largest city in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. These inhabitants were distributed across 16,212 households, for an average household size of 7.61 in Swabi. Swabi experienced quick growth throughout the latter half of the twentieth century, with its population nearly quintupling over a mere 40 years. Shiquanhe
Shiquanhe (), known in Tibetan as Sênggêkanbab () or Sênggêzangbo, is the main town (China), town and administrative seat of Ngari Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region, China. Shiquanhe is located on the bank of Sênggê Zangbo, the river source, source stream of the Indus River, close to its confluence with the Gartang River. Name This modern Chinese-built town is named after the Sengge Zangbo river, the main headwater of the Indus River, on whose banks it is located. It is called "Sengge Zangbo" or "Sengge Khabab" in Tibetan and "Shiquanhe" in Chinese. Lake Manasarovar
Lake Manasarovar also called Mapam Yumtso (; ) locally, is a high altitude freshwater lake near Mount Kailash in Burang County, Ngari Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region, China. It is located at an elevation of , near the western trijunction between China, India and Nepal. It overflows into the adjacent salt-water lake of Rakshastal via the Ganga Chhu. The sources of four rivers: Indus, Sutlej, Brahmaputra, and Karnali lie in the vicinity of the region. The lake is sacred in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Bon religion. People from India, China, Nepal and other countries in the region undertake a pilgrimage to the region. The pilgrimage generally involves trekking towards Lake Manasarovar and a circumambulation of the nearby Mount Kailash.
