Idriss Arnaoud Ali (25 December 1945 – 12 February 2015) was a Djiboutian politician who was President of the National Assembly of Djibouti from 2003 to 2015. Idriss Carlos Kameni (born 18 February 1984) is a Cameroonian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper. He spent the vast majority of his career in Spain, mainly with Espanyol for whom he appeared in 229 official games over eight La Liga seasons. He also competed professionally in France and Turkey. A Cameroonian international before he was 20, Kameni represented the country in two World Cups and six Africa Cup of Nations tournaments. Idriss Déby Itno ( '; 18 June 1952 – 20 April 2021) was a Chadian politician and military officer who was the sixth List of heads of state of Chad, president of Chad from 1991 until his death in 2021 during the 2021 Northern Chad offensive, Northern Chad offensive. His term of office of more than 30 years makes him Chad's longest-serving president. Déby was a member of the Bidayat dialect, Bidayat clan of the Zaghawa people, Zaghawa ethnic group. A high-ranking commander of President Hissène Habré's military during the 1980s, Déby played important roles in the Toyota War which led to Chad's victory during the Chadian–Libyan War, Chadian-Libyan War. Idriss Ngari
Idriss Ngari (2 April 1946 – 27 May 2025) was a Gabonese politician and army general. A relative of President Omar Bongo, Ngari rose rapidly through the ranks of the army, ultimately serving as Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces from 1984 to 1994. He then held a succession of posts in the government of Gabon, serving as Minister of National Defense from 1994 to 1999, Minister of Transport from 1999 to 2002, Minister of the Interior from 2002 to 2004, Minister of Public Works from 2004 to 2007, Minister of Tourism from 2007 to 2009, and finally as Minister of Health in 2009. Mahamat Idriss (ne ''Koundja Ouya'', 17 July 1942 – 3 October 1987) was a Chadian high jumper. He was born in Fort-Lamy, Chad, French Equatorial Africa. Career Before the Chadian independency on 11 August 1960 he competed for France, winning the French national championships in 1960 and 1961. He also finished twelfth at the 1960 Olympic Games while representing France. For Chad he finished ninth at the 1964 Olympic Games. It is still Chad's best position ever at the Olympic Games. Abdurahman Ahmed Said Khadr (, ; born 1982) is a Canadian citizen who was held as an enemy combatant in extrajudicial detention by the United States at the Guantanamo Bay detainment camps, in Cuba, after being detained in 2002 in Afghanistan under suspicion of connections to Al-Qaeda. He later claimed to have been an informant for the CIA. The agency declined to comment on this when asked for confirmation by the United States' PBS news program '' Frontline.'' He was released in the fall of 2003 and ultimately returned to Canada. Ramey Idriss (September 11, 1911 – February 5, 1971), born Ramez Idriss, was an American songwriter, author, composer and musician, educated at Los Angeles Community College. Career Idriss was a musician in dance orchestras on radio and recordings and in films, and also wrote television scripts and special material for the Ritz Brothers, Eddie Cantor, Jimmy Durante and Marion Hutton. Joining ASCAP in 1947, his most popular song composition was the Oscar-nominated " The Woody Woodpecker Song", as featured in the film '' Wet Blanket Policy'' in 1948.
