Ian Doyle
Ian Doyle (1932–1999), also known by the nickname of "Ripper", was an Australian professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1950s, and coached in the 1960s. A Queensland state and Australia national representative , he played in the Toowoomba Rugby League for the All Whites club. His older brother, Joe Doyle, previously played rugby league for Australia also. Ian Doyle was born in Toowoomba, Queensland on 21 March 1932. He started playing football in the Toowoomba Rugby League with the All Whites club in 1950. Doyle was first selected to play for Queensland in the 1956 series against New South Wales. Later that year he was first selected to play for the Australian national team against the touring New Zealand team, becoming Kangaroo No. 321. Toowoomba
Toowoomba ( , nicknamed 'The Garden City' and 'T-Bar') is a city in the Toowoomba Region of the Darling Downs, Queensland, Australia. It is west of Queensland's capital city Brisbane by road. Eric Harris (22 August 1909 – death unknown), also known by the nickname of "Toowoomba Ghost", was an Australian professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1920s and 1930s. 1956–57 Kangaroo Tour Of Great Britain And France
The 1956–57 Kangaroo tour was the ninth Kangaroo tour, in which the Australian national rugby league team travelled to Great Britain and France and played twenty-eight matches, including the Ashes series of three Test matches against Great Britain and three Test matches against the French. It followed the tour of 1952-53 and the next was staged in 1959-60. The squad's leadership The team was captained by Ken Kearney with Clive Churchill as vice-captain. Tour co-managers were Clarrie Fahy and Cyril Connell Sr. The latter's son, Cyril Connell Jr. was a playing member of the touring party.
