I Love You, Beth Cooper (film)
''I Love You, Beth Cooper'' is a 2009 American teen romantic comedy film directed by Chris Columbus and starring Hayden Panettiere and Paul Rust. It is based on the novel of the same name by Larry Doyle, with Doyle also writing the film's screenplay. Plot On graduation day at Buffalo Glenn High School, valedictorian Dennis Cooverman confesses his love for head cheerleader and long time crush, beautiful Beth Cooper, in his speech while also taunting vain rich girl Valli, ignorant bully Greg, and Beth's Army soldier boyfriend Kevin; and urging his best friend Rich to finally admit he is gay. Chris Columbus (filmmaker)
Christopher Joseph Columbus (born September 10, 1958) is an American filmmaker. Born in Spangler, Pennsylvania, Columbus studied film at Tisch School of the Arts, New York University's Tisch School of the Arts where he developed an interest in filmmaking. After writing screenplays for several Teen film, teen comedies in the mid-1980s, including ''Gremlins'', ''The Goonies'', and ''Young Sherlock Holmes'', he made his List of directorial debuts, directorial debut with a teen adventure, ''Adventures in Babysitting'' (1987). Columbus gained recognition soon after with the highly successful Christmas comedy ''Home Alone'' (1990) and ''Home Alone 2: Lost in New York'' (1992).
