Hörby Transmitter
The Hörby transmitter (''Hörbymasten'' in Swedish) is a transmission centre located in Östra Sallerup, near Hörby in the southmost part of Sweden operated by national broadcaster Sveriges Radio. Due to its location in the middle of the province, it provides FM radio and television to most of Scania. It is 320 metres high and when opened in October 1959 it was one of the tallest structures in Europe. It transmits the four national channels from Sveriges Radio: SR P1, SR P2, SR P3 and SR P4. Two versions of P4 are provided: SR Malmöhus and SR Kristianstad. The only remaining short wave radio transmissions also originated from outside Hörby, but were broadcast from the Hörby short wave transmitter. The Hörby transmitter is among the last in Sweden to terminate its analogue signals. SR P4
P4 (''pe fyra'') is a national radio channel produced by the Swedish public broadcaster Sveriges Radio. P4 was started in 1987 as a network of regional stations, but national programming was added in 1993 when P3 was relaunched as a specialist youth channel and P4 took over a large part of P3's former programming intended for a more adult audience. Music programme is more or less similar to BBC Radio 2. Programming Targeted at an across-the-board audience, but with the emphasis on middle-aged (40+) listeners, it is the corporation's most popular radio channel, presenting popular music, entertainment, and sport. On weekdays most of the daytime schedule comes from 25 different regional stations, each producing programming (including local news coverage) for their own areas, while in the evenings and at weekends the channel carries national programming. Hörby Municipality () is a Municipalities of Sweden, municipality in the central part of Skåne County in southern Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Hörby. DVB-T, short for Digital Video Broadcasting – Terrestrial, is the DVB European-based consortium standard for the broadcast transmission of digital terrestrial television that was first published in 1997 and first broadcast in Singapore in February 1998. This system transmits compressed digital audio, digital video and other data in an MPEG transport stream, using coded orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (COFDM or OFDM) modulation. TV4 (Sweden)
TV4 (''TV fyra'') is a Sweden, Swedish free-to-air Television in Sweden, television network owned by TV4 AB, a subsidiary of the TV4 Media, TV4 Media AB. It started broadcasting by satellite in 1990 and, since 1992, on terrestrial television. In 1994, TV4 became the largest channel and remained so for a number of years. The two channels of Sveriges Television (SVT) lost more and more viewers for a couple of years. After making schedule changes in 2001, SVT1 had practically the same numbers of viewers as TV4. SVT2
SVT2 (SVT Två; commonly referred to as Tvåan), is one of the two main television channels broadcast by Sveriges Television in Sweden. Launched in 1969 by Sveriges Radio, the channel was until the 1990s the most watched in Sweden but now serves as SVT's specialist television network, carrying more highbrow and minority programming compared to the more mainstream SVT1. SVT1 (SVT Ett; commonly referred to as Ettan) is the primary television station of the Swedish public service broadcaster Sveriges Television in Sweden. History Television in Sweden officially launched on 4 September 1956 with the launch of ''Radiotjänst TV'', renamed ''Sveriges Radio TV'' a year later. It would take a few years before achieving national coverage. From 1955 to 1958, Danish television carried a program in Swedish ('' Sydsvenska journalen'') aiming at viewers in Skåne until the link with Stockholm was finished in 1958. SR P3
Sveriges Radio P3 (P3) is a semi-mainstream CHR/CHR Alternative-formatted station operated by Sweden's national publicly funded radio broadcasting organization Sveriges Radio. The P in P3 originally stood for Program (''Programme'') but today has no official meaning and is simply a name. P3 was officially similar and related to BBC Radio 1. P3 is broadcast nationwide on FM (also digitally via DAB in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö, and Luleå) as well as being streamed on the internet.
