Haramsøya
Haramsøya is an island in Haram Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The island is located between the islands of Lepsøya and Flemsøya, just northwest of the mainland. The village of Austnes is located on the southeast part of the island, and that is the location of Haram Church. The Ulla lighthouse is located on the north end of the island. The population (2024) of the island is 570. The Ullasund Bridge connects the island to the other neighboring island of Flemsøya to the north. The Nordøyvegen bridge and tunnel network was completed in 2022. The network connects the island of Haramsøya to the mainland and its neighboring islands and it included the Haramsfjord Tunnel between Haramsøya and the island of Lepsøya (and the mainland) to the south. Nordøyvegen
Nordøyvegen () is a road network in Sunnmøre in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The bridge and tunnel network connects the islands of the former Sandøy Municipality (now part of Ålesund Municipality) and the islands of Haram Municipality to the mainland. The road was built by Skanska for . It provides a faster, ferry-free connection to the mainland for the approximately 3,000 residents of the islands. The road is partly financed by a toll station at the Lepsøy, as of 2022 costing per direction for cars. The project includes crossing four fjords with tunnels and bridges and upgrading and re-routing roads on the islands to meet national standards. Flemsøya
Flemsøya or Skuløya is an island in Haram Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The island is located between the islands of Haramsøya and Fjørtofta. The population (2024) of the island was 450. The eastern and southern coastline is flat, the rest of the island is mountainous. The highest point, ''Skulen'', is tall. Haram Church
Haram Church () is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Haram Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located in the village of Austnes on the island of Haramsøya. It is one of the churches for the ''Haram og Fjørtoft'' parish which is part of the Nordre Sunnmøre prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Møre. The white, wooden church was built in an octagonal design in 1838 using plans drawn up by the parish priest Peder Thomas Buschmann. The church seats about 240 people. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to 1432, but it was not new at that time. Lepsøya
Lepsøya is a populated island in Haram Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The island in the northern part of the municipality. It is located in the ocean in the northwestern part of the municipality, with the Haramsfjorden and the island of Haramsøya to the northeast; the Vigrafjorden and the island of Vigra (in Giske Municipality) to the southwest; and the islands of Bjørnøya and Terøya along with the mainland to the southeast. Ullasund Bridge
The Ullasund Bridge () is a bridge that crosses the Ullasundet strait between the islands of Haramsøya and Flemsøya in Haram Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The original bridge was opened in 1969. The Ulla lighthouse is located just northwest of the eastern end of the bridge. Many bridges need to be repaired because the salt in the seawater damages the concrete and the iron inside it. The old Ullasund Bridge actually had to be taken down, because it was too damaged. It was taken down in 1998, after just 29 years in service. It has been replaced with a new bridge.
