Gujarati Sahitya Parishad
Gujarati Sahitya Parishad () is a literary organisation for the promotion of Gujarati literature located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It was founded by Ranjitram Mehta with the aim of creating literature appealing to all classes of society and cultivating a literary sense among the people. Many prominent people including Mahatma Gandhi and Kanaiyalal Munshi have presided over the organisation. Its headquarters, located on Ashram Road, is known as Govardhan Bhavan. It has a conference hall and library. ''Parab'' is the monthly magazine of the Gujarati Sahitya Parishad and is published on the 10th of every month. Presidents Activities It published seven volumes of the ''History of Gujarati Literature'', of which the first volume covers a period of 1150 A.D to 1450 A.D. Ranjitram Mehta
Ranjitram Vavabhai Mehta (25 October 1881 – 4 June 1917) was a Gujarati language writer from British India. Biography Mehta was born on 25 October 1881 in Surat to Vavabhai. He completed his schooling in Ahmedabad where his father was the Chief Engineer of the Ahmedabad Municipal Committee. He completed Bachelor of Arts from Gujarat College in 1903 and served as a fellow for eight months. From 1906 to 1917, he served as a personal assistant of Prof. Gajjar and Prabhashankar Pattani, Dewan of Bhavnagar State. He had served as principal of high school at Umreth in 1905. He founded Gujarat Sahitya Sabha in 1904 and Gujarati Sahitya Parishad in 1905. He died on 4 June 1917 by drowning in sea at Juhu beach. Dhiru Parikh
Dhiru Ishwarlal Parikh (31 August 1933 – 9 May 2021) was an Indian Gujarati poet, short story writer and critic. He was an editor of '' Kavilok'' and '' Kumar'', Gujarati literary magazines. Biography Dhiru Parikh was born on 31 August 1933 at Viramgam near Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. He completed his matriculation in 1951 from the town. He completed B.A. in 1955 from L. D. Arts College, M.A. in 1958 from Gujarat University and was awarded Ph.D. in 1967 for his thesis, ''Rasyugma Prakruti Nirupan''. Since 1955, he taught at C. U. Shah College. He served as the principal of Mahila Arts College of Wadhwan affiliated with SNDT Women's University from 1967 to 1969. Later he joined as a professor of Department of Gujarati, School of Languages, Gujarat University in 1977, served as a head from 1986 to his retirement in 1993. Raghuveer Chaudhari

Mahuva is a town and taluka of Bhavnagar District, Gujarat, India. Located on the coast of the Arabian Sea, Mahuva has mild weather and surroundings that include many coconut plantations. Dhiruben Patel
Dhiruben Gordhanbhai Patel (29 May 1926 – 10 March 2023) was an Indian novelist, playwright and translator. Life Dhiruben Gordhanbhai Patel was born on 29 May 1926 in Baroda (now Vadodara, Gujarat) to Gordhanbhai Patel, a journalist with the Bombay Chronicle, and Gangaben Patel, a political activist and member of the All India Congress Committee. Bakul Tripathi (1928–2006) was a Gujarati humour essayist from Gujarat, India. Educated in commerce and law, he taught commerce in Ahmedabad. He wrote thousands of humour essays in columns in his 40 years long career. Life Bakul Padmamanishankar Tripathi was born on 27 November 1928 at Nadiad (now in Gujarat, India). He matriculated in 1944. He completed his B.Com. in 1948 and M.Com. in 1953. He completed LL.B. in 1953. He served as a professor of commerce in H L College of Commerce in Ahmedabad from 1953 to his retirement. He wrote humour columns in Gujarati daily, ''Gujarat Samachar'' titled ''Thoth Nishaliyo'' and ''Kakko ne Barakhadi'' which was the longest run regular column in any daily across India. Kumarpal Desai
Kumarpal Balabhai Desai is an author, critic, editor, journalist, columnist and translator from Gujarat, India. He studied and later taught at the Gujarat University. He is associated with several social and Gujarati literary organisations such as Gujarati Sahitya Parishad. He has written and edited more than hundred books including biographies and several works on Jainism. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2004. Narayan Desai
Narayan Desai (24 December 1924 – 15 March 2015) was an Indian Gandhian and author. Early life The son of Mahatma Gandhi's personal secretary and biographer Mahadev Desai, he was born in Bulsar (now Valsad), Gujarat on 24 December 1924. Brought up in Gandhi's Ashram in Sabarmati, Ahmedabad and Sevagram near Wardha, Narayan stopped attending school to be educated and trained by his father and other residents of the Ashram. He specialized in basic education, spinning and weaving khadi. Bhagwatikumar Sharma (31 May 1934 – 5 September 2018) was an Indian author and journalist who wrote in Gujarati. Born in Surat and educated in languages, he edited a daily for several years. He wrote novels, short stories, poetry, essays and criticism. He received Ranjitram Suvarna Chandrak in 1984 and Sahitya Akademi Award in 1988. Junagadh
Junagadh () is the city and headquarters of Junagadh district in the Indian state of Gujarat.
