Goa Police Cup
The Goa Police Cup is an annual football tournament organized by the Sports Cell of Goa Police. The tournament is played between the top teams of Goa Professional League and GFA First Division League, sometimes joined by invitational teams. Goa Police Cup is one of the oldest tournaments in Goa, starting since 1968. The competition is played in a group stage followed by knockout. Vasco won the inaugural edition. The champions in 2023 edition were Cortalim Villagers. Prize The winner of the Goa Police Cup gets a cash prize of Rupees 2 lakh, and the runners up gets 1 lakh. The Goa Police Football Cup has a history of being one of the oldest football tournaments in the country with a 5-feet 5 inches silverware trophy, donated by Shantillal Gosalia, being awarded to the winners. Goa Football Association
The Goa Football Association ( GFA) is the governing body of association football, football in Goa. It is affiliated with the All India Football Federation, the national governing body. It sends state teams for Santosh Trophy and Senior Women's National Football Championship. Caitano Fernandes heads GFA as its current president. The GFA's premier competition is the Goa Professional League. History The Goa Football Association () was founded on 22 December 1959. The federation conducted its first Goan State League in 1959 also under the name of ''Goa Primeira Divisão'' or ''Goa First Division'' with Clube Independente de Margao becoming the champions. Duler Stadium
Duler Stadium, officially Duler Football Stadium, is a football stadium in Mapusa, Goa, India. Dempo, Salgaocar, and Sporting Goa were the most notable venue users. It also serves as home ground for other Goa Professional League clubs. History Kingfisher sponsoring In 2009, the Goa Football Association agreed to a deal with giants Kingfisher to rename the Duler Stadium to the Kingfisher Stadium, but in January 2009, the land owners protested, as the stadium belongs to the Mapusa Communidade. Panjim Footballers Club (simply known as Panjim Footballers) is an Indian professional football club based in Panjim, Goa, that competes in the Goa Professional League. Its women's team previously participated in the Indian Women's League, and currently participates in GFA Vedanta Women's League. History Established in 1978 as a small city club, Panjim Footballers started playing in inter-village tournaments and GFA age-group tournaments and won many small tournaments. Salgaocar Football Club (formerly Salgaocar Sporting Club) is an Indian professional football club based in Vasco, Goa.
