Fernando Bale (born December 3, 2013) is an Australian retired racing Greyhound, which many in Australia thought to be the greatest racing greyhound in Greyhound racing in Australia, Australian racing. He earned a world-record $1.3m in prize money. Appearance Fernando Bale is mostly white in color with most of his body and legs white, but he also has a brindle rump and face (except a white stripe in the middle of his face). His official colour was white and dark brindle. Career His first victory was the 525m maiden special weight at The Meadows. After two further wins, he won his first of seven G1 races in the National Derby at Wentworth Park. After the Ballarat Derby, Fernando won the G1 Golden Easter Egg. His last two G1 wins were in the Adelaide Cup at Angle Park and the Top Gun at The Meadows. He raced in the Melbourne Cup Final, but placed second by a small margin. The Golden Easter Egg is an Australian Group 1 Greyhound racing in Australia, greyhound race held annually at Sydney's Wentworth Park racetrack in Glebe, New South Wales, Glebe. In 2012 it was listed as the richest greyhound race in the world. History The first Golden Easter Egg was held at Wentworth Park, Sydney in 1990. Held annually on Easter Saturday it carries Group 1 status from AGRA, the code's racing regulator. The Golden Easter Egg carnival is in fact held over three weekends, commencing with heat events (8 in total), then followed by Semi Finals week (4 in total) and the Final Event in the third week. The first and second placegetters from the four semi final events fill the places in the final. The Golden Easter Egg now provides prize money of around $1,000,000 ($250,000 to the winner) making it one the richest greyhound carnivals in Australia. Brindle
Brindle is a coat (animal), coat coloring pattern in animals, particularly dogs, cattle, guinea pigs, Cat, cats, and, rarely, horses. It is sometimes described as "tiger-striped", although the brindle pattern is more subtle than that of a tiger's coat. Brindle typically appears as black stripes on a red base.
