Principality Of Fürstenberg
Fürstenberg was a county (), and later a principality (''Fürstentum''), of the Holy Roman Empire in Swabia, which was located in present-day southern Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Its ruling family was the House of Fürstenberg (Swabia), House of Fürstenberg. History The county emerged when Egino IV, Count of Bad Urach, Urach by marriage, inherited large parts of the Duchy of House of Zähringen, Zähringen upon the death of Duke Berthold V, Duke of Zähringen, Berthold V in 1218, and it was originally called the county of Freiburg im Breisgau, Freiburg. Egino's grandson, Count Henry, started naming himself after his residence at Fürstenberg Castle (Hüfingen), Fürstenberg Castle around 1250. The House of Fürstenberg () is the name of a German nobility, German noble family of Westphalia, which descended from Hermannus de Vorstenberg. He was a liegeman of the Archbishop of Cologne, who was among the prince electors of the Holy Roman Empire. Hermannus held a castle for his lord called Fürstenberg Castle (Höingen), Fürstenberg ("Prince's Hill") at Ense-Höingen in Soest, Germany, Soest; this castle would give the family its name. Fürstenberg () is a town in the Oberhavel district, Brandenburg, Germany. Geography Fürstenberg is situated on the Havel, River Havel, south of Neustrelitz, and north of Berlin. The town lies at the southern edge of the Mecklenburg Lake District and is framed by the Röblinsee, Baalensee, and Schwedtsee lakes. Fürstenberg-Pürglitz was a noble family hailing from southwestern Baden-Württemberg, Germany, which was seated at Křivoklát Castle () in Bohemia. Fürstenberg-Pürglitz emerged as a non-ruling branch of the princely House of Fürstenberg in 1762 following the death of Prince Joseph Wilhelm Ernst, and it inherited the principality after the princely line became extinct in 1804. Fürstenberg-Heiligenberg was a county and later a principality in southern Baden-Württemberg, Germany, located in the historical territory of Heiligenberg. Carl Fürstenberg
Carl Fürstenberg (28 August 1850 – 9 February 1933) was one of the most prominent German bankers of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, and was responsible for the revival of the German mining industry during his era. Biography Fürstenberg was born on 28 August 1850 to Jewish parents in Danzig (GdaÅ„sk). While working at a West Prussian textile mill throughout his childhood, he apprenticed under local banker R. Damme. At the age of seventeen, he moved to Berlin. At first, Fürstenberg worked for the textile company of Gebr. Simon (Simon Bros.).
