Fintelligens
Fintelligens is a hip hop group from Helsinki, Finland. The band is formed of two MCs: Elastinen and Iso H. The band has released three albums and one compilation, all selling more than 150,000 copies. Career In the early 1990s the Finnish hip hop scene was dominated by more humorous acts, such as Raptori. For many years afterwards, Finnish hip hop was strongly seen as some kind of joke. When Fintelligens released their debut album ''Renesanssi'' in 2000, it was the first more serious mainstream record to emerge. ''Renesanssi'' was a success and went gold with hit singles ''Voittamaton'', ''Kellareiden Kasvatit'' and a collaboration with Swedish MC's Petter and Peewee called ''Stockholm-Helsinki''. The album started a boom in Finnish hip hop as record companies endeavored to sign their own rap artists. Elastinen
Kimmo Ilpo Juhani Laiho (born 1981), better known by his stage name Elastinen (''elastic'' in Finnish), is a Finnish rapper and also one of the founders and CEO of independent Finnish rap label Rähinä Records. Together with his colleague Iso H (Big H), he founded the Finnish rap duo Fintelligens. He has released five solo albums. Biography Beginnings Born and raised in Helsinki, Elastinen began taking guitar lessons when he was seven years old. At the age of 11 he started dancing and has been a member of famous break-dance groups as IMC and Savage Feet. Inspired by a hiphop-cassette, given by his elder-brother, "Ela" wrote his first rap-lyrics when he was 15 years old, after being inspired by a hip hop cassette given to him by his older brother. Rähinä Records is the biggest independent Rap music, rap label in Finland. It was founded 1998 by Elastinen, Iso H, Andu, Tasis (rapper), Tasis, and Uniikki, and started actual business in 2003. The name Rähinä Records is a brand name. The company also has a sublabel Alarm Entertainment to release artists outside the Rähinä Label. Rähinä Records expanded in 2005, and started producing videos. In charge of Rähinä Films is a young director promise Lauri Aalto. Rähinä Records Oy continues to grow and started a clothing line called "Varuste" in 2006. Petter Askergren
Petter Alexis Askergren (born 25 May 1974), who simply uses his given name Petter as a stage name, is a Swedish rapper from Stockholm, Sweden, rapping in Swedish. He debuted in 1998 with the album ''Mitt sjätte sinne'' (My Sixth Sense), which became a success and started the Swedish hip hop boom in the late 1990s and early 2000s. He owns a record company called Bananrepubliken (). He also studied art history at Uppsala University for some time. He has also worked with the famous Norwegian rap producer Tommy Tee several times in his career. Iso H
Iso H (real name: Carl Henrik Rosenberg), born 11 January 1979 in Helsinki, is a Finnish rapper. Together with his colleague Elastinen, he formed the Finnish rap band Fintelligens. On 30 June 2005, Iso H was sentenced to six and a half months in prison for refusing to enlist in the Finnish defence force or equivalent civilian service. Kapasiteettiyksikkö ( Finnish for "capacity unit") was a Finnish hip hop group from Helsinki. The group was formed in 1997 by Anders "Andu" Westerholm, Markku "Tasis" Wettenranta and Dan "Uniikki" Tolppanen. Along with Fintelligens, Kapasiteettiyksikkö was one of the first Finnish-language hip hop groups that gained popularity in the country.
