Felix Ryan
Felix Thomas Ryan (1890–1963) was an Australian Rugby League player who played in the 1910s and 1920s who represented New South Wales and Australia. He has been named as one of the greatest players in the history of the Newtown Jets. Background Ryan was born in Sydney, New South Wales on 27 September 1890 to Thomas Felix Ryan (1861-1927) and Bridget Emma Ryan nee Mulquinny (1862-1920). Playing career Ryan played ten seasons for Newtown between 1913 and 1923. Paddy McCue
Patrick Aloysius McCue (24 June 1883 – 10 September 1962) was an Australian representative rugby union player and pioneer rugby league footballer. He was a dual-code rugby international and an Olympic gold medallist. Rugby union career A forward with the Newtown Rugby Union club in Sydney, McCue was selected on the first Wallaby tour of England in 1908–1909, the squad captained by Herbert Moran. That side competed in the 1908 Summer Olympics in London and McCue was a member of the Australia national rugby union team captained by Chris McKivat which won the gold medal. Paddy McCue also coached the St. George Rugby Union Club in the 1930s. The 1921–22 Kangaroo tour of Great Britain was the third ever Kangaroo tour. Albert Johnston (rugby League)
Albert "Ricketty" Johnston (1891–1961) was a pioneering Australian rugby league footballer who played in the 1910s and 1920s, and coached from the 1920s to the 1940s. He was a three-quarter for the Australian national team, and played in eight tests between 1919 and 1922, two as captain. Charles Russell (rugby)
Charles "Boxer" Joseph Russell (5 December 1884 – 15 May 1957) was a pioneer Australian rugby union and rugby league footballer and coach. He represented his country in both sports and was one Australia's early dual-code rugby internationals. He was a gold medallist at the 1908 Summer Olympics. Rugby union career Russell was a centre/winger whose club rugby was played with the Newtown RUFC in Sydney. He played three Tests for the Wallabies in 1907 against the All Blacks before being selected for the first Wallaby tour of Britain in 1908. He played in both Tests of the tour scoring tries in each. The Australian National Rugby League Team, the Kangaroos, have represented Australia in senior men's rugby league football competition since the establishment of the 'Northern Union game' in Australia in 1908.
