Fahrettin Altay (İzmir Metro)
Fahrettin Altay is an underground station of the İzmir Metro's only operating line, the M1. Located under Fahrettin Altay square, the station has two side platforms servicing two tracks. The station was opened on 26 July 2014, after 9 years of delayed construction. The station was a terminal station from 2014 to 2024, until line extended to Narlıdere. The station offers connections to regional buses to Çeşme, Urla, Seferihisar and Karaburun, which depart from a terminal within walking distance to Fahrettin Altay square. History Construction of the six station expansion of the subway line, west from Üçyol, began in 2005 with completion expected by April 2007. The contract was awarded in March and groundbreaking began on 5 July. However, due to disagreements between the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and the company contracted with building the line, construction halted on 14 February 2006 and the contract was cancelled in November. İzmir Metro
The İzmir Metro () is a Medium-capacity rail system, light metro system serving the city of İzmir, Turkey. The current system, consisting of M1 (İzmir Metro), one line, starts from Narlıdere Kaymakamlık station in the southwestern portion of the metropolitan area and runs towards northeast to end at Evka 3 (İzmir Metro), Evka-3 in Bornova. İzmir's metro line is long, and serves 24 stations as of 4 March 2024. Overview By 1990, it was thought that the existing public transport system in Izmir could no longer support the growing population. Urla, İzmir
Urla is a municipality and district of İzmir Province, in western Turkey. Its area is 727 km2, and its population is 74,736 (2022). The station was opened on 24 February 2024, after almost 6 years of construction. Üçyol (İzmir Metro)
Üçyol is an underground station on the M1 Line of the İzmir Metro in Konak. Located beneath İnönü Avenue, just west of Üçyol Square, it is one of the ten original stations of the metro system, opened on 22 May 2000. From 2000 to the 2012, Üçyol was the western terminus of the line. On 29 December 2012, the line was extended two stations westward to Hatay. Seferihisar is a municipality and district of İzmir Province, Turkey. Its area is 375 km2, and its population is 60,914 (2024). Seferihisar district area borders on other İzmir districts of Urla to the west and Menderes to the east, and touches İzmir's westernmost metropolitan district of Güzelbahçe in the north. Çeşme, officially the Çeşme Municipality, is a municipality and Districts of Turkey, district of İzmir Province, Turkey. Its area is 285 km2, and its population is 48,924 (2022).
