Eugenio López Rodea
Eugenio López Rodea (28 June 1934 – 20 May 2022) was a business executive and the founder of Mexican beverage company Jumex. Early life and education Born in Mexico City, Mexico, his father, Vicente López Resines, was the founder of La Costeña, one of the largest producers of preserves worldwide. From a young age he learned about the culture of entrepreneurship. Career In 1961, López Rodea founded the Frugo brand, predecessor of Grupo Jumex, which today is the largest juice brand in Latin America. Three months after the founding of Frugo, the company began producing a 150-milliliter can that contained peaches with 20 employees. In 1964 he began a process to register the 'Jumex' trademark with the slogan 'the blue can' and to change the previous packaging. The ''Maximato'' was a transitional period in the History of Mexico, historical and political development of Mexico from 1 December 1928 to 1 December 1934. Named after former president Plutarco Elías Calles's sobriquet ''el Jefe Máximo'' (the maximum leader), the ''Maximato'' was the period in which Calles continued to exercise power and exert influence without holding the presidency. The six-year period was the term that President-elect Alvaro Obregón would have served if he had not been assassinated immediately after the July 1928 elections. Following Obregón's death, a solution to the presidential succession crisis was in immediate need. Calles could not hold the presidency again because of restrictions on re-election without an interval out of power, but he remained the dominant figure in Mexico. La Costeña (food Company)
Conservas La Costeña, usually called La Costeña, is a Mexican brand of canned products. It was founded in 1923 by Vicente López Recines. The company has become an important brand inside and outside Mexico. Nowadays, La Costeña sells its products across Mexico and in 40 countries around the world. While all its products in the beginning were chilies, the company later began producing new products such as beans, ketchup, vegetables and others. The production plants have been modified also, in addition there is the fact that the factories have won some recognitions for the changes in technology and process. Frugo
Frugo is a brand of fruit drinks, developed by Alima Gerber and Damian G, now owned by FoodCare Poland. Frugo became famous from their original commercials. The brand is known for the slogan "Let's Frugo". History Frugo appeared in Poland in 1996. Six years later, its initial producer, Alima-Gerber, sold the brand to Krynica Zdrój, which subsequently went bankrupt and the production of the drink ceased. In late 2009, the brand was bought by Aflofarm, a pharmaceutical company that originally wanted to reintroduce Frugo onto the market, as a trial run only in Coffeeheaven cafes and stores. The company later dropped these plans, stating that the brand didn't fit their company. In March 2011, Frugo was acquired by FoodCare Poland. Eugenio López Alonso
Eugenio López Alonso is the sole heir to the Grupo Jumex fruit juice fortune, one of Mexico's most successful national enterprises, the president of Fundación Jumex Arte Contemporáneo, and a significant contemporary art collector. He has worked in the realm of contemporary art collecting in Mexico since the late 1990s, focusing on the promotion of contemporary art practice and on fostering its development. In 1994, he cofounded Chac Mool Gallery in Los Angeles with art adviser Esthella Provas. In 2001, he created Fundación Jumex, a not-for-profit institution that receives support from Grupo Jumex, a company founded by his father, Eugenio López Rodea.
