Estadio Adolfo López Mateos
Estadio Adolfo López Mateos is a stadium in Reynosa, Mexico. It is primarily used for baseball and has served as the home stadium for the Broncos de Reynosa. From 2007 to 2008 the stadium served as an association football venue for the Tigres B team that later moved to San Nicolás de los Garza in the greater Monterrey area.A typical game report from the era may be found at: From 2008 on it has been home to the Zorros de Reynosa football club that currently plays in the Segunda División de México. The stadium has a capacity of 10,000 people. It was named after Adolfo López Mateos who served as President of Mexico from 1958 to 1964. On 12 July 2010 a game between the Broncos and the Monterrey Sultans at Estadio Adolfo López Mateos had to be suspended due to gunfire, possibly in relation to the Mexican Drug War. Federal Highway 40, (''Carretera Federal'', Fed. 40) also called the ''Carretera Interoceánica'' (Interoceanic Highway), is a road beginning at Reynosa, Tamaulipas, just west of the Port of Brownsville, Texas, and ending at Mexican Federal Highway 15, Fed. 15 in Villa Unión, Sinaloa, Villa Unión, Sinaloa, near Mazatlán and the Pacific coast. The Sultanes de Monterrey (English: Monterrey Sultans) are a professional baseball club in the Mexican League (LMB) based in Monterrey, Mexico. Established in 1939 as Carta Blanca, the Sultanes have won ten LMB titles, most recently in 2018. Adolfo López Mateos (; 26 May 1909 – 22 September 1969) was a Mexican politician and lawyer who served as President of Mexico from 1958 to 1964. Previously, he served as Secretariat of Labor and Social Welfare, Secretary of Labor and Social Welfare from 1952 to 1957 and a Senate of the Republic (Mexico), Senator from the State of Mexico from 1946 to 1952. Beginning his political career as a campaign aide of José Vasconcelos during his run for president, López Mateos encountered repression from Plutarco Elías Calles, who attempted to maintain hegemony within the Institutional Revolutionary Party, National Revolutionary Party (PNR).
