Beeston Hockey Club
Beeston Hockey Club is a field hockey club based in Beeston, England. The club was founded in 1907, and plays its home games at the Nottingham Hockey Centre in Nottingham. Beeston is nicknamed ''the Bees''. The men's 1st XI plays in the Men's England Hockey League and the ladies 1st XI in the Women's England Hockey League. The majority of the other teams compete in the Midlands League. The large club fields six men's sides, seven ladies sides and various junior sides. England Hockey is the national governing body for the sport of field hockey in England. There are separate governing bodies for the sport in the other parts of the United Kingdom. History and organisation England Hockey was formed on 1 January 2003 to replace the English Hockey Association (EHA) which had had to suspend operations 2002 because of significant financial problems. The English Hockey Association had in turn been formed in 1996 to combine the function of the separate governing bodies for men's, women's and mixed hockey. Following the demise of the EHA, England's international hockey was for a time managed through a separate limited company called World Class Hockey Limited, which was funded entirely by Sport England. Haagse Hockeyvereniging "Haagsche Delftsche Mixed", commonly known as hdm, is a Dutch field hockey club based in The Hague, South Holland. The club was founded on 8 February 1908, when students from Delft wanted to play hockey with their girlfriends from The Hague. The first men's team won the Dutch national title in 1924, 1930, 1931, 1935, 1941, 1942 and – for the last time – in 1992. Currently, the first men's team competes in the Dutch second division, the Promotieklasse, the first women's team competes in the Dutch first division, the Hoofdklasse. Surbiton Hockey Club is a field hockey club based in Long Ditton, Surrey, England. The club is one of the oldest hockey clubs in the world, being established in 1874. The home ground is based in Long Ditton, at Sugden Road. The club is currently the leading club in England with the women's team winning the league for eight years in succession and the men's team winning the three of the last four league titles.
