English Dogs
English Dogs were a British hardcore punk band that began life in the early eighties. Two versions of the band exist: the punk and metal crossover band featuring original drummer Andrew "Pinch" Pinching and second-era members Graham "Gizz" Butt and Adie Bailey, and a punk-based one featuring original vocalist Pete "Wakey" Wakefield. History English Dogs formed in October 1981 in Grantham and produced two demos during 1982, "Show No Mercy" and "Free To Kill". The band toured as support to fellow punk band Charged GBH in Germany during early 1983 and followed this with a British tour supporting Discharge. In 1983 they signed to Clay Records and released a six-track EP, ''Mad Punx And English Dogs'', in July 1983. English Dogs' first full-length album, ''Invasion of the Porky Men'', was released a year later. Grantham () is a market town and civil parish in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England, situated on the banks of the River Witham and bounded to the west by the A1 road (Great Britain), A1 road. History In July 1997, GBH members Colin "Jock" Blyth (guitar) and Ross Lomas (bass/guitar) and English Dogs members Pete "Wakey" Wakefield (vocals) and Andrew "Pinch" Pinching (drums) recorded and mixed the album ''Wreckin Temples'' in nine days at Jigsaw Studio in Frognall. All music that appeared on the album was originally written in 1980 and 1981 by GBH and English Dogs but was never recorded. Graham Anthony "Gizz" Butt (born 3 August 1966) is a British musician, lead vocalist and lead guitarist for Janus Stark best known for being the live guitarist for The Prodigy in the late 1990s. His own band Janus Stark, from the same era, enjoyed a minor hit with the song "Every Little Thing Counts" from the album ''The Great Adventure Cigar''. Biography Graham Anthony Butt acquired the nickname "Gizz" from the character of 'Gizzard Puke' who appeared on '' The Kenny Everett Show''. Coming from a musical background, Butt began playing the guitar at the age of eleven, taking lessons with a jazz guitarist in Manchester. In 1978, his family relocated to Peterborough, where Butt formed his first school band, The Northern Lights. The Damned (band)
The Damned are an English rock band formed in London in 1976 by lead vocalist Dave Vanian, guitarist Brian James, bassist (and later guitarist) Captain Sensible and drummer Rat Scabies. They were the first punk band from the United Kingdom to release a single, " New Rose" (1976), release a studio album, '' Damned Damned Damned'' (1977) and tour the United States. Nine of the band's singles charted on the UK Singles Chart Top 40. The band briefly dissolved after '' Music for Pleasure'' (1977), the follow-up to their debut studio album, was critically dismissed. They quickly reformed without Brian James and released '' Machine Gun Etiquette'' (1979). The Prodigy
The Prodigy are an English electronic music band formed in Braintree, Essex, in 1990 by producer, keyboardist, and songwriter Liam Howlett. The original line-up also featured Rapping, MC and vocalist Maxim (musician), Maxim, dancer and occasionally live keyboardist Leeroy Thornhill, dancer Sharky, and dancer and vocalist Keith Flint. They describe their style as Electropunk, electronic punk. Pitchshifter (originally Pitch Shifter) are an English industrial metal band from Nottingham, formed in 1989. The band was started by lead guitarist and programmer Johnny A. Carter, and bassist and vocalist Mark Clayden. The band's early material was characterized for its gritty industrial metal sound with downtuned guitars and the use of drum machines, and has been cited as one of the originators of the genre along with Godflesh. Janus Stark are an English experimental punk rock band from Peterborough, England. Their album, '' Great Adventure Cigar'', was highly rated by Foo Fighters and Die Toten Hosen (Vom Richie asked the band to support for the Die Toten Hosen Live tour 2000 and Campino would introduce and praise the band before each performance) and was a fusion of Punk rock, hard rock, heavy metal and alternative with influences from Helmet to The Ruts to The Beatles to The Clash.
