Ella Gjømle Berg
Ella Gjømle Berg (born 29 May 1979) is a cross-country skiing (sport), cross-country skier from Stathelle, Bamble, Norway. She competes for SFK Lyn, Lyn Ski Club, Oslo. Career Gjømle Berg competed in the 2005 World Championship in Oberstdorf, finishing ninth in the sprint competition. She finished fourth in team sprint at the 2006 Olympics in Torino, and sixth in the individual sprint. Gjømle Berg finished second in the 2005-06 Cross-country skiing World Cup champions, Sprint World Cup. She obtained one victory (team sprint with Marit Bjørgen, Düsseldorf) and one third place (sprint, Düsseldorf) during the 2006-07 Cross-Country Skiing World Cup. Stathelle
is a town in Bamble Municipality in Telemark county, Norway. The town is located at the confluence of the Frierfjorden, Eidangerfjord, and Langesundsfjorden. The town of Brevik lies about across the fjord and the town of Langesund lies about to the southeast. Stathelle Church is located in the town. The 2007–08 FIS Cross-Country World Cup was a multi-race tournament over the season for cross-country skiers. It was the 27th official FIS Cross-Country World Cup, World Cup season in cross-country skiing (sport), cross-country skiing for men and women. The season began on 27 October 2007 with 800m sprint races for women in Düsseldorf, won by Natalia Matveeva of Russia, who took her first World Cup victory. FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2007
The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 took place 22 February – 4 March 2007 in Sapporo, Japan. It was the second time this city has hosted these championships, having previously done so in the 1972 Winter Olympics. Sapporo was selected as venue by vote at the 43rd International Ski Federation, FIS World Congress in Portorož, Slovenia, on 6 June 2002. It also marked the third time the championships were hosted outside Europe in a year that did not coincide with the Winter Olympics; it was the first championship held in Asia. The ski jumping team normal hill event was not held, as it had been in 2005.
