A rural municipality (RM) is a type of incorporated municipality in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. A rural municipality is created by the Minister of Municipal Relations by ministerial order via section 49 of ''The Municipalities Act''. Saskatchewan has 296 rural municipalities, which are located in the central and southern portions of the province. They had a cumulative population of and an average population of in the 2016 Census of Population. Saskatchewan's largest and smallest rural municipalities are the RM of Corman Park No. 344 and the RM of Glen McPherson No. 46 with populations of 8,568 and 72 respectively. Mozart, Saskatchewan
Mozart is a hamlet south of the Quill Lakes in Saskatchewan, Canada, within Elfros RM 307. It was founded in 1909 and named after the Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The streets are also named after other famous classical composers. In the town's name, the ''z'' has its normal English sound, rather than the German used in the composer's name. The RM of Elfros helcentennial celebrationsJuly 24–26, 2009. In 1991, Mozart's postmaster commemorated the 200th anniversary of the composer's death with a special postmark. In September of that year, the hamlet held a concert at the local hall, featuring several players from the Regina Symphony Orchestra. They performed several works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Organized Hamlet
In most cases in Saskatchewan, a hamlet is an unincorporated community with at least five occupied dwellings situated on separate lots and at least 10 separate lots, the majority of which are an average size of less than one acre. Saskatchewan has three different types of unincorporated hamlets including generic "hamlets", "special service areas" and "organized hamlets". The exception to unincorporated hamlets in Saskatchewan is a "northern hamlet", which is a type of incorporated municipality. Leslie is a special service area in the Rural Municipality of Elfros No. 307, Saskatchewan, Canada. Listed as a designated place by Statistics Canada, the community had a population of 15 in the Canada 2016 Census. The community is located just off of Highway 16 between Foam Lake and Elfros. The first post office was established in 1909 as Leslie Station (with C. A. Clarke as postmaster), with the name of the community changed to Leslie in 1962.
