Ecem Erkek (born 24 June 1989) is a Turkish actress. Career Erkek was born in 1989 in Ankara. Her family is from Sivas. After graduating from Ankara Ömer Seyfettin High School in 2006, she decided to become an actress and took drama training at Mamak Municipality Conservatory between 2007–2008 and diction training at Hacettepe University Turkish Society in 2008. She worked as a trainee in Ankara Art Theatre in 2009, and later in 2010 she enrolled as a theatre art major in the School of Language and History – Geography of Ankara University, and graduated from this school in 2015. Starting her acting career with theatre plays, she was cast in many plays including ''The American Dream (play), The American Dream'', ''Woyzeck'', ''The Threepenny Opera'', ''Tersine Dünya'', ''Romeo and Juliet'' and ''Şark Dişçisi''. Exxen is a Turkish subscription streaming service and production company. Owned by Acun Medya, a Turkish TV production and rights acquisition company, Exxen was launched on 1 January 2021. Exxen produces its own content, as well as owning various streaming rights of foreign productions and sports events. History Exxen was established and commercially registered in Turkey, in 2017. ''Have You Ever Seen Fireflies?'' () is a play written by Yılmaz Erdoğan. A feature film based on the play was released in 2021 via Netflix, directed by Andaç Haznedaroglu and starring Yılmaz Erdoğan, Ecem Erkek and Engin Alkan. Production Erdoğan began writing the play while he was serving at the Air Force Academy. It was performed for the first time on 23 January 1999 at the Beşiktaş Cultural Center in Istanbul. Erdoğan was given a day's leave to attend the premiere. The play had a cast of 17 people and was released with the sponsorship of Telsim. During its run in Istanbul it was staged 97 times between 23 January 1999 and 23 May 1999. Later that same year during June, the play was performed in Bursa, Denizli, Antalya, Isparta, Adana, Tarsus, Mersin and Cyprus, as well as Anatolia.
