Bosnian (; / ; ), sometimes referred to as Bosniak ( / ; ), is the standard language, standardized Variety (linguistics)#Standard varieties, variety of the Serbo-Croatian pluricentric language mainly used by ethnic Bosniaks. Dževad Galijašević
Dževad Galijašević (born 4 March 1962) is a Bosnians, Bosnian political commentator and media figure. Biography Born in Moševac near Maglaj, Galijašević became a member of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia in his youth. Since 1986, there was a conflict between Moševac and the Bosnian political leadership. In the election for leadership in the local community of Moševac, Dževad Galijašević and Hasan Delić had the most votes, however, the leadership in Maglaj opposed such a decision deeming that they were not morally and politically suitable, and they were thus never instated. Galijašević, a Moševac community leader, spoke at a public meeting regarding human rights and liberties in BiH, seeking support in his struggle against local leaders in Maglaj. He was arrested after the meeting and served seven months in prison. He started a hunger strike in prison, and human rights organization demanded his pardon. Dževad Hamzić
Dževad Hamzić (born 4 September 1968) is a Bosnian sitting volleyball player. A member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national sitting volleyball team, he won medals at the 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020 and 2024 Summer Paralympics. Biography Hamzić was born on 4 September 1968. He served in the Bosnian War as a member of the Bosnian Army. While serving in the war, he stepped on a mine in the village of Nišići, leaving him visually impaired and requiring a leg amputation. As part of his rehabilitation, he started playing sitting volleyball in 1996. Beginning with the "A" club that year, he later joined the club SDI Spid in 1998. Hamzić was called up to the Bosnia and Herzegovina national sitting volleyball team in 1998 and has been one of the main players for the team since; by 2019, he had appeared in 148 matches, a joint-record he shared with Sabahudin Delalić, Ismet Godinjak and Adnan Manko. Dževad Karahasan
Dževad Karahasan (25 January 1953 – 19 May 2023) was a Bosnian writer, essayist and philosopher. Karahasan was awarded the Herder Prize and Goethe Medal for his writings. In 2020, the city of Frankfurt awarded him the Goethe Prize. Early life Karahasan was born in Tomislavgrad, Duvno (present-day Tomislavgrad) into an ethnic Bosniaks, Bosniak family. He described his father as a "religious communist" and mother as a devoted Muslim. He himself often spent time with Franciscan friars in the local monastery. He studied literature and theatre at the University of Sarajevo. He received his Ph.D. from the Faculty of Philosophy, Zagreb, Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Zagreb. Dževad Poturak (born September 20, 1977) is a Bosnian heavyweight kickboxer, fighting out of Jumruk Gym in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is the former WAKO Pro World Low-Kick champion and K-1 Fighting Network Prague 2007 tournament champion. He holds notable wins over Daniel Ghiță, Melvin Manhoef, Sergei Lashchenko and Jörgen Kruth. Career Poturak first came to prominence when he defeated Siniša Puljak to win the WKA European Championship on December 21, 2003. Dževad Prekazi (, , ; born 18 August 1957) is a Yugoslav former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Born in Titova Mitrovica, Prekazi made his first football steps at his local club Remont, being registered for their youth team in early 1974. He soon gained attention as one of the most promising young talents in Yugoslav football and signed with Partizan in December 1974. With the ''Crno-beli'', Prekazi won the Yugoslav First League three times ( 1975–76, 1977–78, and 1982–83).
