Deportivo Cihuatlán F.C. is a Mexican football club that plays in the Tercera División de México. The club is based in Cihuatlán, Jalisco. History Deportivo Cihuatlán I In 1998 the first representative team of the city was founded, which was called Deportivo Cihuatlán and competed in the Tercera División. In 1999 it won the league championship and its promotion to Segunda División after defeat Potros UAEM in the final. In the Torneo Invierno 2001 of the Segunda División, the team achieved its second championship by defeating Tapatío in the final, in this way the club achieved its promotion to the Primera División A. In Invierno 2002 the team debuted in the Primera División 'A' getting 26 points in 19 games, which allowed him to play the repechage stage, however, in this series the club was eliminated by Acapulco. 2021–22 Liga TDP Season
The 2021–22 Liga TDP season is the fourth-tier football league of Mexico. The tournament began on 9 September 2021 and finished on 3 June 2022. Competition format The Tercera División (Third Division) is divided into 17 groups. For the 2009–2010 season, the format of the tournament has been reorganized to a home and away format, which all teams will play in their respective group. The 17 groups consist of teams which are eligible to play in the liguilla de ascenso for three promotion spots, teams who are affiliated with teams in the Liga MX, Liga de Expansión MX and Liga Premier and development teams, which are not eligible for promotion but will play that who the better team in a sixteen team filial playoff tournament for the entire season. Club de Fútbol Loros de la Universidad de Colima was Mexican football club that lastly played in the Ascenso MX, the second tier division of Mexican football. The club was based in Colima, Mexico. The team participated in the Ascenso MX during the 2016–17 season after earning promotion by winning the Torneo Clausura 2015 Championship over Cruz Azul Hidalgo and the Final de Ascenso against U.A. Estado de Mexico (winners of Apertura 2014). They were initially going to get promoted during the 2015–2016 season, but they did not meet the stadium requirements set forth by the Mexican Football Federation. Culiacán, officially Culiacán Rosales, is a city in northwestern Mexico, the capital and largest city of both Culiacán Municipality and the state of Sinaloa. Ascenso MX, also known as Ascenso BBVA MX for sponsorship reasons, was a professional association football league in Mexico and the second level of the Mexican football league system. Formerly known as Primera División A de México (1994–2009) and also as Liga de Ascenso (2009–2012). The champions of the competition was promoted to Liga MX (top level), and the bottom team was relegated to Liga Premier (third level). Cihuatlán is a coastal municipality in the Mexican state of Jalisco. Its main city is also named Cihuatlán. Etymology The word Cihuatlán is compounded of two words of Nahuatl origin, a language spoken in central Mexico since the seventh century AD and the language of the Aztecs: ''Zihua'', woman, and ''Tlán'' place; therefore in Cihuatlán means ''place of women''.
