Dario Amodei
Dario Amodei (born 1983) is an Italian-American artificial intelligence researcher and entrepreneur. He is the co-founder and CEO of Anthropic, the company behind the large language model series Claude AI. He was previously the vice president of research at OpenAI. Early life In the 1970s, Amodei's parents moved from Italy to San Francisco, California. Dario Amodei was born in 1983 and Daniela Amodei, his sister, four years later. Their father, Riccardo Amodei, a leather craftsman from a tiny town near the island of Elba, took ill when the children were small and died when they were young adults. Their mother, Elena Engel, a Jewish American born in Chicago, worked as a project manager for libraries. Education Dario grew up in San Francisco and graduated from Lowell High School. Tom Tombrello
Tom Tombrello (1936–2014) was a Caltech H. Goddard Professor of Physics. He earned B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees in physics, all at Rice University. He studied nuclear reactions in the 1960s, which helped show how chemical elements are created. He chaired the Division of Physics, Mathematics and Astronomy at Caltech from 1998 to 2008.
